They're all ugly IMO, but it's kind of like the GT-R...form following function. SLR Cameras stopped looking good when they turned digital.

went to cars and coffee in charlotte today. rode with my friend andy in his (now) 800(ish)hp GTR which was quite an experience. one of my relatives on my dad's side has been after me to shoot her husband's Z06 so he met us there. unfortunately, the weather was doom and gloom. i took a few pictures, not much worth looking at to be honest but these turned out ok i suppose...

Can anyone here hook me up with the Portraiture plug-in for Cs5?
Oh... I have a PC if that matters, which it probably does.
I know, I know... Windows, Canon, Android phone. I'm doing all the wrong things as far as the creative field goes :rofl2:

If I'm not mistaken, most PS plugins are cross platform.
I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for, but I just bought some actions from "Greater Than Gatsby" that do some pretty cool stuff.

Welcome - Greater Than Gatsby - Greater Than Gatsby | Professional Photoshop Actions

LunaZ 05-14-2013 08:43 PM

Yeah, I've seen their actions (as well as many others) advertised all over Fb.
Some of them are okay, but most of them look like Instagram filters to me and they don't actually do any real retouching of skin unless you count reducing the clarity and blowing out the highlights.

A friend of mine showed me this over the weekend:
Portraiture - Retouching Plugin for Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Lightroom and Apple Aperture
She was gonna hook me up but then told me her Mac version wouldn't work on my computer.
I've gotten much better with my skin retouching using layers, but if there's a shortcut...

It's neat, but you can achieve better results with the split frequency technique. There are a few tutorials on YouTube. It basically splits the color and texture to produce smoother, more natural result instead of a uniform skin tone or texture.

Yup, frequency separation is what I'm doing now. :-)

Pintsize725 05-16-2013 10:20 PM

Alright, time to sub and learn.

Pintsize725 05-16-2013 11:05 PM

Mine, open for critique. I'm using a T3 with the stock lens and am a noob to manual mode.

I was advised to get a 50mm 2.8 prime to practice composition. Any advice?

Because you're shooting into the sun?
At least it's a real lens flare and not Photoshopped in. I kinda like it. I try to get a lens flare like that and it never happens.
I think there's a filter to cure that. Or maybe a lens hood.

HKYStormFront 05-21-2013 05:05 PM

lens flare is (i believe) an artifact of direct sunlight bouncing around inside the lens creating "ghosts" on the image of various pieces of glass the light is passing through within the lens. i love natural lens flares, these fake photoshopped in ones are what bother me...

Only wish I could get them both in focus, any ideas?? Used a 70-300mm at 300mm, f/10 for 1/500s, ISO 200. I'm guessing with this lens the Moon can't be in the same field depth as the tree, which I'm not exactly standing next to...

Very large pieces of the 787 Dreamliner, primarily one-piece carbon fiber fuselage sections (fwd, middle, aft), horizontal stabilizers and the main wings, plus whatever else they feel like shipping. That departure was probably to bring the shipping tooling back to the partner sites or to go pick up another major section. The 787 is not really built in Everett, it is assembled from completed sections from the partner sites like Kawasaki, Mitsubishi, Fuji, Spirit Aero or Alenia, amongst other partners. The Dreamlifter can only be used to ship 787 parts due to its limited FAA type cert, hence its name. Damn thing needs more runway to lift off than the Antonov, and it was probably empty except for tooling!

Boost_lee 05-23-2013 12:32 AM

I really like that last shot Titan
