There's only one Photoshop.

Any of them will work. I wouldn't get anything less than CS3. I believe CS5 is the newest and it has some pretty nifty features.

If you want to go the free route you can try the Gimp. Its nowhere near as powerful as Photoshop but its easier to use if you're new to editing. Its absolutely free to use which is nice. :)

I use Photoshop CS3 but I'm a bit rusty so if you see any works I do don't hold it against me. :P

Wait till more members chime in later. I down loaded the Elements 9, 30 day free trail. But I want to be sure not to buy to little, nor buy to much(stuff I'll never use, or need). With prices from $100.00, to $600.00:eek:!

I use Photoshop CS4.

I've tried Gimp and it's a great program and definitely worth the price, free.

Dark_Sub_Rosa 10-29-2010 07:34 PM

Cs5 ftw

Any of the Adobe Photoshop versions will let you render images you are refering to. Its all about learing the program and understanding how to manipulate image. The CS5 is more for professional image processing and will be far too expensive for what you plan to use it for. Go to the Adobe website and try it out before you buy.

Adobe Elements (around $120)
https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/i...ents&loc=en_us

or Photoshop CS5 (around $700)

The full CS5 suite Master Collection is around $2,600:eek: that's a lot of dough, but worth it if you are in the design field.

Still a bargain when you compare it to AutoCad though. The license for a single station is around $5,500.:eek:

I have the full CS5 Master Suite, but it's part of my job so work pays for it.

If you buy CS5, I see no need for Lightroom.

HKYStormFront 10-31-2010 10:28 PM
