NIKON 5300 Help

Just bought a Nikon 5300 and was wanting to know which is the best set-up to take pictures with...ex. Outdoor and Indoor modes

I would highly recommend using the P mode on your camera to start, notice how the camera adjusts the shutter speed, fstop, etc.

Once you learn a little more about your camera go to M mode and set all the values yourself. It's a great learning experience and it will benefit you immensely in the long run.

For "artistic" photography, there are no best settings. Play around with the settings until you get the effect you want.

For "general" photography, Ghh0st has the right idea - leave it in P mode. Once you get used to what's going on, you can switch to different modes (eg, shutter priority, manual) to get the depth of field, blur, &c that you want.
