If anyone has purchased one, could you tell me where you got the best price from?
|
Did you end up checking the dealership?
|
I did, their price was way out to lunch.

Final Bump....

Bonus Bump

Still looking, anyone parting out any Nismo's?
|
Why do you want this? As far as the shop I worked at could tell, it didn't do anything.
|
I put the front one on and it made a noticeable difference.
Looking to complete the set and put the rear on as well. |
Bump, anyone have one?

can you describe in a bit of detail the difference the front damper made?
Oh and just for S+Gs the price the stealership quoted you for them? |
Hi, I found it made the car settle quicker when going around corners if there were any bumps in the road. In a straight line it made less of a difference but it did appear to make the car feel more solid going over a rough section on my daily commute. It's not a blow your doors off difference, but I did notice it and was an improvement for me. I am in Canada so my numbers are going to be skewed, but here they wanted $950 just for the damper, no brackets. I believe the US dealers are less than half that.
I am currently looking for the matching rear one to see if it makes any additional improvement, but it has been hard to find. |
Yeah I did a bit of looking into these a while back and apparently the nissan engineers felt it was necessary to fit these in order to dampen certain chassis vibrations associated with stiffer springs. This just kinda surprised me since they don't seem to do anything that potentially increases he cost of the car unless they think it absolutely necessary. This makes me pause and consider getting them. Would it fit with an aftermarket oil cooler fitted in front of the ac condenser on the drivers side? ...you know.. the normal spot..
|
Yes, I have an oil cooler mounted up front and it clears it by about 1/4"

If you come across a rear one let me know, the front one is a straight bolt on, really easy, but unless you have the Nismo rear sub-frame you need to do some welding and fabrication to create mounting points for it.
