I got rid of the Z and took the wife's 335i so I don't need it anymore. And can't help you with the resurfacing question, sorry.

Does it need to be resurfaced? Sorry I'm not savvy to the upkeep of flywheels. I thought something like this would just work.

All flywheels should be resurfaced when switching applications (vehicles).. Jim Wolf has a kit for an entirely new plate, but I'm not sure if they're universal :(
