Yeah, it's Metra. I have no need for it.

The audio system is pending for a buyer waiting on the uninstall (currently still in the car).

Peculiar 02-20-2013 12:25 PM

Okay put me in line.

cheshirecat 02-20-2013 12:45 PM

eastwest2300 02-20-2013 01:05 PM

Hey does anyone have an idea of how to take off the factory shift knob, i've been told its almost impossible to take it off without destroying it. Any insight would be awesome.

Jbwrecked 02-20-2013 01:42 PM

^I literally just unscrewed it off with my bear (lol) hands. It was tight but some people get some type of grip with a handle, get it on super tight, and just spin. Mine wasn't damaged at all

PS: Let me know where I stand for the GTR button OP :D

chefsung 02-20-2013 02:06 PM

i tried to be gentle with it.
but i destroyed the ***** out of it.

cheshirecat 02-20-2013 02:46 PM

it seems like some knobs are really glued on there and others are just tight. it's hit or miss honestly

i suggest, in this order

- trying it with your hand, if it's really on there
- use a rubber oil filter wrench with a towel wrapped around it, if it's still tough
- pop up the shifter ring and get a pair of vice grips to make sure you don't overtorque the shift stalk, and REALLY turn it

it'll eventually come off

It went with my old 350z.

If you can't get it off, please let me know so I can refund your paypal. It's not right of me to have your money when I can't ship you the knob. Looking forward to hearing from you when the stock knob is removed.

You're second in line but I believe the buyer is going to go through with it.

I uninstalled it all last night and will be packing it up tomorrow for shipment. Pending notification of the shipping charges, he's ready for payment.

If something changes, I'll let you know.

eastwest2300 02-23-2013 02:00 PM

Hey update... my factory shift knob, is still on the car, I've been trying to get it off for some time now, I got it to turn a little bit but in doing so, the oem knob is trashed man, I can post pics.

Jbwrecked 02-23-2013 02:50 PM

That really is crazy how tight yours is... I undid my buddy's a couple weeks ago and his wasn't tight either. Just two hands and started turning. Are you sure your turning the right way? Lefty Loosey! :driving:

hahahaha... yeah dude it sucked, now Im kinda stuck because the seller, needs an oem knob, and i've already paid for his knob, so Im not sure what we're gonna do. I do know this, I cant drive my Z without a shift knob.

SS_Firehawk 02-23-2013 04:27 PM

Can just get a new one for $10 more, but still pay for shipping if you don't get the knob.

eastwest2300 02-23-2013 04:49 PM

Yeah, Im waiting on the seller to return my payment, then I can buy a new one. It sucks, because I really wanted this one, but its my loss. Someone else will jump on it, hopefully they have an oem knob.

eastwest2300 02-23-2013 05:00 PM

Refund received from seller, thank you! Good man in my book, thank you man!

SS_Firehawk 02-23-2013 05:26 PM

I would buy a new knob and send it to the seller if I was able to get the one he has. I like the red ring and the H pattern
