4.08 gears
1 Attachment(s)
I have 4.08 gears for sale. These are arguably the most substantial N/A performance mod you can get, and will definitely have you grinning as soon as you install them. I loved having them on my Z - you can feel the acceleration increase in every gear and at all speeds.
I had these on my 6MT + Sport package. I didn't notice any changes to the cruise control, but the rev-matching was off by about 200 rpm (you just need to let go of the clutch slightly slower to compensate when downshifting) As far as 7AT guys - here is a good review thread: http://www.the370z.com/engine-drivet...at-review.html Update: I looked through my box with the gears and found that I have the pinion bearing and the pinion oil seal which are in great shape. I will include them as part of the sale, along with an extra full bottle of Redline 75W90 gear oil which I didn't end up using. What is NOT included in this sale are the side oil seals and the crush sleeve. These items can be ordered from your local Nissan parts dealer or online such as Courtesy Parts. Also not included are the side bearings, but I was told that they are same as stock and therefore can be reused from what is already in there. Pic of all the stuff attached. $450 + shipping |
How much does the deal kit normally run that coincides with the gears?!? $275?

I'm still not sure why you can't just reuse the stock bearings - they looked identical. Reason I'm not including bearings in the sale is because the rollers on one of them were starting to get pitted which caused a whining noise later on. |
I'd be all over this if I could get the bearings, crush sleeve and seals cheap lol

i want these so bad.... to bad no one on the island i can trust to install :-(

Updated original post with a pic and added the extra stuff I'm including with the sale.

I just did my 4.08 install this weekend at my buddy's shop (with a press and impact tools) and it only took a little over 4 hrs. |

is there any way to adjust the rev matching after replacing the gears?
|
I imagine an ECU controller could somehow do that... I just don't know if there's one out there that's an easy PnP operation.. I'm sure an in depth program could extrapolate that information from the sensors and a new map could be flashed back to the ECU. Again, I'm not sure who would do that. Call an Osiris tuner/dealer, that'd be a start. I doubt they can help, but they might know a guy who builds his own custom flashes

You should be able to adjust the rev matching at an upREV tuner . . .
