Hey man, just purchased this same SRI.....in the box and ready for installation. I saw your post that you went back to the stock air box.

How did it perform any problems...Most of the gents on the forum really like it?

Why did you go back to stock??

pedZ 08-30-2012 11:54 PM

I switched back because I wasn't convinced the gains were there. It sounded and looked great though. I just decided to use the stock air boxes with K&N drop ins and Z1 post MAF tubes.

That's the set-up I'm leaning towards. Not so much because of cost, but probably for performance. Here in Phoenix where it is 100-110+ for several months, having the additional heat of the engine with the exposed filters may be detrimental.

At first I thought the K&N intakes weren't really working but after I made a few adjustments to the filters ad made sure everything was tightened up and there was no hose kinks, that little thing def added a little horse power. CAI or Sri isn't gonna add a ton of horse power anyway, on that car. It helps tho. You guys here of the Speed Booster? It's supposed to fix the delayed throttle response for when you drive fast. Check it out. I heard it works well.

:iagree: Heat soak was my biggest concern.
