I'm not sure if I just agreed to buy the 18s that were the original subject of the thread, or the 19s that were supposedly swapped for (and appear in the first page pictures). As long as they're 370Z OEMs. I'm not qualified to assess aftermarket rims.

The big risk on buying used alloy rims is that they're no longer round, ergo: useless. When I've bought in the past, I always make sure they're new car pulls. And even though I don't expect to mount these on anything, they'll go straight to a Hunter balance (so I can find out what I bought).

Would you be willing to do $800 picked up for these? I'm local in NY, Nassau.

I'm a reputable MY350Z member, if it makes any difference. I go by the same name there.

Thes 18" OEM wheels he still has were mine... They were on my car for just about 1,000 miles. I got a flat from a sharp item on the road that slashed my tire at 500 miles and replaced it with the OEM yoko advan that comes with it. Not a pothole or anything even noticable, the light came on, I pulled over and had a leak coming from the rear passenger tire, coming from a nice slash.. The rims should be in perfect condition as I put them right on to his cart for his storage unit in perfect shape.

His OEM 19s are now on my car. I hope he sells them as he did me a favor in taking these for a trade towards the Rays 19s. The one tire alone for the 18s ran me 240 I believe. All four tires are under 1,000 miles and just them alone are worth more than the 800. I practically gave these to him though but I am more than happy with the 19s and what they did for my car.

AlphaSnacks 01-11-2010 02:03 AM

I'm not entirely sure what these are worth. Some sell them for $1300. Some for $900. Some for $1000. And they all sell with tires. I just saw someone offer $800 a few posts back, and figured I'd do the same.

Hi Chuck,

First -- my offer of $800 is still standing. Haven't heard from this party.

Second, if you read and re-read the edited beginning of this thread, the 18s are gone, and he's apparently selling 19s, instead. The tires in the current pictures are not Yokohamas but Potenzas. Also, I'd have to be there to measure, but these (in the picture) look pretty well used. If there's 30% left on a treadwear rating of 160, that's about enough rubber to get you to the tire store. (Small hyperbole! :)

I edited out the part about the slow leak, but a plugged Z-rated tire shouldn't be driven above street speeds. Collect and mount four of them, and you can have a nice 10-minute Youtube "drifting" video.

But it's still a crapshoot buying anyone's used rubber and rims, because alloy wheels are prone to a certain type of misbehavior. That's when you park safely next to a curb -- no curbage! no damage! -- but then have to cut the wheel sharply to exit. Your power steering, versus the curb sideways on the rim flange on a Rays forged ... who's going to win? And unlike steel rims, alloys aren't so easy to pound back into a semblance of round.

Well, that's just one little horror story. I got a set of supposedly pulled OEM rims for backup on my wife's last TL, and two of the four were warped to the point you couldn't get a good balance.

But I made a second mistake in putting them out at the curb ... because I could have gotten 60 cents/lb at the junk dealer.

Hey Chuck, I ended up trading your 18's plus a few bucks for 19's to a local guy because he wanted 18's for the winter. So the sale is now for 19's again. I keep getting offers for trades everytime I post a set

You still have a standing offer for cash. Well?

This thread reads:
**EDIT** NEED THESE SOLD ASAP. BEST OFFER SHIPPED TONIGHT, I WANT TO BUY A TV FROM MY FRIEND, LOL AND ITS NOT GOING TO LAST LONG!!!

1. There has been a standing offer of $800 cash open for 4 days. No one else has offered more, so this is the "best offer".

2. The person posting this ad has appeared in this forum since the cash offer was posted, but has not responded to the offer, even when queried directly.

3. I don't know how the seller's actions comport with the rules for this forum, but it appears the seller is unwilling to stand by his own words. It's like when you have a neighbor who keeps a "garage sale" of junk going all summer long. This stupid thread has dragged on for MONTHS.

4. If this is not resolved in the next 24 hours, I ask that this thread be permanently closed and "370Rpm" be barred from advertising here until he demonstrates he is willing to bargain in good faith.

Did you PM him? Because I live closer, and Arnold K lives closer still. Why would he choose the person who lives farthest away?

Unless -- there is something about this particular set of 19" OEM tires and rims, which someone would like to get out of his Long Island neighborhood.

On eBay this would be an account with zero rep, which is to say, radioactive. It's smelling more like a Big Sucker Play every time we get a new bit of info about this person... all circumstantial, but it's like the paper they wrapped your Mom's fish in at the store. You KNOW that stink's coming from SOMEwhere...

Supracrazy 01-16-2010 04:18 PM

Why dont you just post a price?
