Is there a discoloration on the knob of the radio?

No discoloration. Must have been some oil or something that was magnified in the picture. The "oil' cleaned right off.

Sorry not on the car. I can take it out of the bag and take a picture of it. It fits the Z like a glove and is in new condition. has Z logo on front of cover and on included duffle bag. I believe this cover came with the original 40th anniversary Zs as a promotion. does not say 40th anniversary on the cover, just the Z logo

Is this the Bose headunit?

Yes the Bose head unit out of a 2009 Touring 370Z. was in the car for only about a month.

I wonder if the oem radio would just fit right into a base setup.

I think it would work. The base setup has no amp or subwoofer which the touring does. I know the touring also has bluetooth, aux out,and steering wheel controls.
Not sure if Nissan puts bluetooth in all cars and just does not hook it up on non-touring models. Would be nice it they did.
Sorry cannot be sure of anything, except the radio works perfect in touring model, which is reflected in the low price

is it even possible to install the bose headunit into a non-touring 370z? I always thought it wasnt...

It will install. but you will not get all the benefits of the Bose amp, subwoofer and extra speakers. What you get is the aux in and the CD changer.
I have never tried to put it in a non touring, but it should work.
One reason I priced it so low, was because of the posssibility it my not work.
