Is there a difference between stock cats vs Nismo cats. Does it work with a Berk CBE? Sorry I'm new to exhausts and cats...

according to nissan oem parts theres no option to buy cats w/o or w/ nismo. Regular z and the nismo cats should be the same

Hey where in NJ? Thanksgiving for me is in Northern NJ... interested potentially in the exhaust, but prior to this Z I had a 350Z and the y-pipe from stock 350z to Nismo S-tune exhaust was of a different diameter...

Any one out there know if this rings true for 370z? Im new to the 370.

ccdominic 11-17-2011 10:11 AM

how does this compare to the stock touring exhaust?

Yes, I'd like to know if anyone has first hand experiance with stock vs. Nismo exhaust. I'd like to do exhuast but want something very modest. I have watched videos of both but its very hard to form an opinion based just on youtube videos given the usually low sound quality.

Has anyone switched stock for nismo? Were you happy? Was the sound better/louder at all?

Thanks in advance for anyone that can answer this.

The Nismo exhaust is very mild. I have mine with TP and it is still very quiet.

I live in north jersey in Saddle Brook right off of rt 80 and Parkway. You can deffinitely hear the exhaust but still its preety quite compared to aftermarket ones. So if your interested just PM me.

I put the Nismo exhaust on my car this year and it was a perfect blend of performance and sound. The exhaust is deeper tone and perceived louder than OEM. The fit is perfect for the 370 chassis.
It sounds amazing under throttle. As for performance, HP and TQ have increased. I notice the lower end TQ more than anything.

Stock NISMO exhaust is mild. I believe the NISMO 'aftermarket' is louder from the one car I drove that had it on.

We have a stock NISMO ON OUR ZR...I would like a bit more sound from it but its a notch above stock which is what I was looking for. Looks great.

Only issue is one of the mounts for the muffler. NISMO models have an adapter that Nissan won't easily sell, so you need to rig up a small piece of metal. Took me one some stock from home depot and 20m with a dremel
to fabricate something quickly.

Somebody should snap this up. The price is right.

The standard Nismo exhaust is a no brainer to install (I made an extender bracket for the 3rd muffler mount in 15 minutes, some folks don't even use the 3rd bracket) just make sure to use Nismo gaskets (or equal) because they are bigger (to accommodate the larger diameter tubing of the Nismo exhaust) than the stock gaskets, also there is one additional connection in the Nismo exhaust compared to the standard exhaust.

Visually-the Nismo tips are larger and more prominent than stock. Structurally-the pipes are all larger and straighter. Sound-a little more volume.
