stock catalytic converters
 

i got my stock ones for sale... taken off the car when i only had 3,500 miles on her.... selling them because they are just collecting dust in my store room ill post pics later on tonight....

price is $250 shipped to the U.S :tup:

just take them to a scrapyard. when i put my test pipes on this weejend they are going to give me $200 for mine. whats $50 bucks?

they only buy them here for 30 bucks each.... screw that lol

newer car cats arent worth much at all..

the scrapyard told me that a newer foreign cars cat usually goes for $100 a piece and he seen my 370 and said thats what i would get.

that surprises me. i live it a relatively small town and they quoted me 200. i wonder why that is?

i know this has been done for 350zs but can't stock cats be modified to be high flow? or should i say higher flow by removing one of the filters?

Thats what a lot of people in the 3000GT community did. The car came with 2 precats before the main catalytic converter, so people would gut out the precats into "test pipes". I heard its dirty work, maybe not so much so in a new car though. GLWS

sooo these are sold to M370 Z but i thought id share my story its hilarious

i sold em to M370z for 130 bucks shipped paypal fees included

now here is the hilarious part.....

130 minus the paypal fees come up to 125 clean.... for me right not bad right? im super stoked lol im really a nit picky kinda guy... most of you know so i like selling stuff clean and not grimy and old looking.... lol so i grind and sand off the rust off the cats pretty much make em look new give em a nice coat of high temp paint pack it up throw in the brace for the cats for free and head to the post office.... i dont believe in parcel post because it takes FOREVER to get to the destination and it always gets damaged for some reason so i went with priority.... the postage was 66.15 :roflpuke2: in the car i was like hmmm not bad i think i made like 70 bucks cuz postage was 60 plus, 10 bucks more than the scrap yard = WIN!!! if you do the math i made approximately 58.85 that doesnt include the high temp spray paint i bought for 7 bucks LOL that and the fact that the post office is 2 miles away from where i live rather than the scrap yard which is about 5 mins away from were i live, i would say half a mile

drum roll please.... i made 51 dollars from selling this off island which means i lost out because the scrap yard qouted me $30 each so i would have made 60 bucks clean and not had a huge hassle wooooo :facepalm: lol :bowrofl:

but at the end of the day its ok because i helped out a fellow z member :tup: im not mad or anything i really did laugh at the post office everyone looked at me weird :p it woulda been classic if postage was 90 bucks though wow i think i would have refunded M370z paypal and just scrapped it lol
