|
Yea I tried to get it but was about 2 mins late, even offered $50 over asking.:shakes head:
|
.
Sorry man. I'd been looking for one for about 3 days and they're impossible to find. Just got lucky on that one. I found two different listings on ebay yesterday, but they didn't actually have any and have taken thier posts down. Good luck with your search.
|
Yea I know, they took them down because I attempted to buy them just for them to tell me they dont actually have them.
|
hate to thread jack but why would you want one cobb discontinued them
|
Its a good tuner. It has the capability of returning the stock map for trips to the dealer. It is still serviced by cobb, although they never offered any custom maps. And in my case, the shop i get service from, Jotech, is well versed in tuning the cobb ap. And since i have a custom tune on thier dyno, the ability to get premade maps is not important to me.

What he said:tup:
If there was a comparable tuner I would get it but I havent come across one. Ive contacted several tuner shops in my area and they all tell me to find the Cobb AP and bring it to them to tune. |
For those looking for the unit, Ive found a retailer with stock.

I enjoyed mine when I had my Z, its definitely one of the best tuning devices on the market IMHO, and even though they arent offering any canned maps, any shop that dyno tunes will know how to tune with the AP.
|
The unit actually come with 5 stock maps and 2 more can still be dl'ed from cobbs sight.
Im getting it in today, ill run the dyno feature on it and posts before and after numbers. |

Also, being able to swap to different tunes on the fly (while in gear even!) using cruise control buttons is pretty sweet. |
I just spoke to a tune shop by me who works on mainly Subaru's and they told me they could give me a Cobb AccessPort Tune. Can someone give me some info on this? I am unfamiliar when it comes to tunes for cars. Thanks.

Does Cobb still make custom maps by request?
I have Stillen Gen 3 intake, Invidia gemini cat back and invidia test pipes. The main reason im getting the ap is to adjust the fuel myself due to the test pipes, but the more i read the less im liking my choice to go with cobb as it looks like im sol with base maps and will have to spend another $500 + to have a tuner shop do the actual tune. Anyone have some insight for me? |
Just get the Osiris package from UpRev, you get 3 free E-tunes and whatever base maps you want (anti-theft, valet, 100 octane, whatever).
|
I already ordered my ap unfortunatley, will be here today.
I was told that the ap was the tuner to buy. |
Honestly, I don't think there is much difference in their capabilities. I chose to switch to UpRev since Cobb doesn't want to support the 370Z anymore. They both have their own pro's. UpRev flashes way faster and you can keep multiple maps on your car at a single time. Cobb you get a standalone unit that you aren't required to use a laptop to do things.
|
So is there any site that i can get a map for the cobb ap to match my bolt ons?
I see the 2+ is not intended to be used with an after market intake, says it could comprimise the engine. I see the map for the 08 350z 2+ is intended for all of my upgrades, think they are interchangable or should I just wait and get it pro tuned? Kinda wanted to do something with my new toy tonight but obviously not at the expense of damaging my car. |
