:bump: Thanks everybody for the kind words. Just letting you all know that everything is still for sale!

Wheels and tires are sold, but I've still got the exhaust, cats, and Fast Intentions 18" resonators for sale. If you're on the fence about any of the items, send me a PM and we can negotiate.

:bump: Prices have been lowered again! Anything not sold by this weekend will be sold for scrap because I just need to get rid of it, so if you want something please PM me this week.

Eric :hello:

: ) wish u were able to part out the remains of that car. I'd be lookin for that bumper, hatch, tail lights. good luck with the sale.

was your suspension damaged? what's the deal with your rear camber kit and coilovers?

G35guy84 09-01-2010 06:59 PM

:bump: ^^Unfortunately, I don't have any of the parts not listed. As far as I know, everything still on the car (including suspension, camber kit, spacers, etc.) is being turned into aluminum cans and steel I beams. :shakes head:

i heard that you can keep a car even if it is totaled and keep the check. but i assume its too late for any of that. I've had a couple of friends with older cars (3-4k) have their cars "totaled" and take the check, keep the car and either sell it for parts or fix it. any thoughts on a new ride?

I didn't know that you could do that. If it's true, I will see if my Z is still at the tow yard and try to get it back. But I'm not going to hold my breath because it was scheduled to be "disposed of" on Monday.

As for a new ride, I just bought an octane blue pearl '08 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X GSR. I will post up some pics soon (after I wash/wax/clay bar it of course). Style-wise inside and out, it doesn't compare to the Z and I would rather have my Z back. Having said that, it sure is a nice ride, and I bet its all-wheel-drive chassis, Brembo brakes and modest 2.0L I4 MIVEC turbo-charged engine would give the Z a run for its money. ;) But before anyone gets his panties in a knot, I did say I would rather have my Z back.

that sounds like a fun car. did you get auto or manual? any mods planned? How do you feel btw? any pain from the accident or are you totally fine? What happened exactly, if you don't mind talking about it?

I got a manual. I just wish it was a 6-speed and not 5-speed. It's already got an aftermarket exhaust, CAI, blowoff valve, shift knob and emergency brake. And it comes stock with Recaro racing seats, which is a nice bonus. I plan to make all of the air ducts functional, make the fog lights HID, change interior lights/license plate lights to LEDs, change all rubber radiator/intercooler hoses to colored (blue) silicon hoses, CF lip spoiler for trunk and rear wing, Brembo drilled/slotted rotors, boost/air-fuel ratio/oil temp gauges, SS brake lines, ?CF hood, LED brake lights, 20% tint. Let me know if you think there's anything important missing on my list so I make sure to add it. :p

As for the accident, I feel fine now. I had some cuts and bruises, but they've almost healed. What happened was I wasn't paying attention and ran right into the back of another car (a Mercedes truck) without putting on the brakes going about 40mph. It was really scary, but fortunately everything is working out with insurance and all that stuff.

Eric

sorry to hear about what happened. i'm sure it won't ever happen again to you, so maybe its a blessing.

but more importantly, that evo sounds like a beast already and what you have planned sounds awesome. just curious, how come you went with 7at on the Z and manual on the Evo?

eastwest2300 09-02-2010 06:26 PM

What kinda seats did you have in the Z? If they were leather, any chance of getting them back? Im not too far from you, I could take a trip up to NY and do a swap. PM me, and let me know.

I went with the 7AT because I was tired of driving stick on 347 going to Stony Brook every day, but I got the 5-speed on the Evo because I kinda missed driving stick and I couldn't find a used Evo with the dual clutch 6AT.
