Custom 7inch Tablet for the cubby
5 Attachment(s)
I have a custom tablet for the cubby that I had in my car. (No longer have the car).
The tablet has a sim card slot as well if you want internet on the tablet at all time, or you can just hot spot it. Cheapest solution to cars without navigation. Play music, see your engine parameters, navigation. Does not need magnets to hold closed but can just glue on a couple if you wish. Comes with the charging cable. What did it look like in your car?
How did you power it? What brand/model? |
I would also like to see a few pics of it installed in the car if you have any saved somewhere. Been thinking of doing something like this or maybe just mounting a cheap android double-DIN head unit in the cubby for most of the same purposes.

Attachment 147744 I powered it with that USB cord ran to the passenger footwell power socket. I specifically bought that USB cord to have the 90 degree connection so it fits in the space. The tablet only needed to be charged every few days. Another option is for you to run that cable into the cubby and drill a small hole to run it through to the passenger power socket. It's some LG tablet, 7inch. Might be the LG G-Pad 7.0 LTE... Nothing great, but it works for this application. I just cared that it had the SIM card slot. |
