Knock Genny all you wish. She runs with you and for less. In 2009 the 370 was great. It still is. I still miss that rawness. At the same time I rarely could appreciate the platform I had. Environment. Money. If I were rich I wouldnt have either. Lol.

OK but you're contradicting yourself. You want Nissan to make a DD Z EVEN THOUGH YOU KNOW!!! ITS NOT A DD CAR!!

Let's get down to brass tax. I have a DD.N I still DD my Z on n off. To me I can DD almost anything. So what you consider DD is subjective. I drive fairly aggressive. I prefer sport position when I drive ALL the time. I TRADED a G37s for a Z. N I didn't opt for all the wacky doo tech junk I had in my infinit. That should tell you a lot.

So yeah,if you like DD'ing 2+2 coupes more? U got NO BUSINESS HOPING FOR A BETTER Z.

It seems Nissan already made your car right now. The Q60 coupe.

Fair enough. I have Volvo S60 that is SUBLIME. Fall sleep in the bastard it's so comfy. My 13 Z was ROUGH. Actually rougher than my 350z. With less tech. How that's possible is beyond me 8 years later. And comfort. I want my 3.8 comfort, Z speed, and FUTURE Genesis tech in a Z35 for $36k. Not base. Now. Leather. Baseball glove stuff. NAV. Home link, NAV, phone integration (I can do all sorts of stuff with my phone to the car. Start. Track, lights). I have all that NOW minus a couple ticks in performance. I EXPECT the Z to to have that in its next model obviously. I've been doing it for two years. Gimme all that and make up for the ticks I lost.

Well then the 300hp Z will work for you. If it is 3,000lbs or less? It will be at least 550lbs lighter than your current car and I'm sure the gearing will be aggressive enough to **** all over your Genny once again.

Or you can lose another 50hp and get the 4 banger. That may be slower than your Genny but will still out handle it.

400hp is for the money men. Expect the new Genesis to be infiniti prices. So u may be stuck in a Kia coupe or different less powerful Hyundai RWD coupe?

And there is the argument. You're fighting history and yourself. 2008 Z34 broke boundaries for price and performance. I'm hoping they do it again. That's all. Let's see what they come up to stay AHEAD not competitive, but ahead of the game.

Realistically I don't see anyone doing what GM has done in the price range any time soon. Chevy has a lot of v8 powered cars around the world. The Nissan is limited by comparison sales volume. If Nissan can keep up? Then they're doing great.

FPenvy 04-12-2016 07:52 AM

i missed a pissing match. why did no one throw up the bat signal?

turbo Z will be a good buy even if the base is 40k with good options. get rid of these fuckin 18 year olds who's parents got them a 2009 with 100k miles on it for them to stance and ruin it.

i really wish i had a ton of money to get cars where the reputation isn't ruined by people like we are seeing coming into the 370 world now.

also the genny sucks :tiphat:

RicerX 04-12-2016 09:00 AM

A 400hp Z at $40k is perfect, IMHO. A Camaro SS starts at $38k w/ 455hp and, though vastly superior to its previous gen car, will still outweigh a Z, so I imagine the performance would be very comparable. These cars get cross-shopped regardless of how different they are... might as well make them perform similarly. Honestly, the 370Z isn't terribly behind a 5th Gen Camaro SS in performance, and especially not in the corners. The Z will have that extra oomph in its styling being a two-seater to justify a small difference in price to the Mustang GT and Camaro SS.

Back to the Q60 - this thing will be $55k for its Red Sport version. I'm impressed that the Q50 RS400 starts in the $47k - that's virtually no different than my Q50S in price. I'm very glad they didn't price themselves out with it. This car is MASSIVELY competitive in the luxury sport sedan segment. Once some real track comparos between the 340i M Sport, C450 AMG Sport, and an Audi S4 come out, these automotive journalists are going to be forced to pull the German flag out of their collective arses.

RicerX 04-12-2016 09:04 AM

The only thing completely screwing this Q50 is the GARBAGE wheel/tire selection and lack of a true LSD (or even a damn viscous). They improved the wheel size in the RS400 (put some 9.5" width in the rear) but they're still using the SH!TTY dunlop run flats. These tires FVCKING SUCK. In a 2015 Q50S, there's a road test with the Rays wheel option (with RE050s on them, 265 rear 245 front) and they pulled an extra 0.12g or something out of the car in lateral acceleration... with just wheels and tires. It wrecked a 335i M Sport around the track (pretty sure this was Autoblog).

The last thing Infiniti needs is for this thing to put up >4.5s to 60 when the platform and new power has the potential to rock a near 3.x s with a good differential and some decent performance tires. This thing on paper out of the box needs to decimate its German competition.

RBfastback 04-12-2016 01:01 PM

I hate 95% of ppl that are into the 350z and 80% of the ppl that are into the 370z...

UNKNOWN_370 04-16-2016 06:49 PM

Everytime I've seen this car it's been with the chrome accenting and I really hated the look. Carlos Lago did a walk-around with "Black chrome" accenting. And like a corvette. With the right accenting (a la GS/Z06). This infinit looks pretty damn good.

I'm hoping for a more dramatic 480hp IPL? Let's see...

In KENCHAN Silver, This looks HOT!! I think I can do this. But I'm hoping there's an optional hydraulic steering as promised?

Looks awesome in silver and with those stock rims wow.

The more I look at this thing... the more I dig it.

I'm loving the entry luxury segment right now. So many awesome cars from Merc, Jag, Infiniti, and Lexus.

Saw on FB Stillen page, the Q50 3.0TT put down 375WHP 350 WTQ on their dynojet today IIRC. Pretty impressive aint it?

That's actually incredible if there's only 25 hp loss and 0 tq loss through the drivetrain.

Stock specs are 400/350 hp/tq

It's impressive, but remember, that's the same dyno that shows a Stillen supercharger kit making power.

The dynojet always gives high numbers. Throw it on the mustang dyno and you'll see a significant difference in numbers.

I've only seen a huge difference with boosted cars. I put my full bolt on NA car on both a Dynojet and Mustang and the numbers were identical.

Boosted is a whole different story. Like 10-15% difference.

We all know that. I just pointed out that it isn't the case that DynoJet 'always' gives higher numbers.

I just got invited to test drive the Q60 on June 30th

Did you get to drive the Q60? Planning on picking one up as my next car. Any comments about how the new exhaust sounds since the engine is TT? Hoping that is still has that distinctive rumple that the VQ had.

UNKNOWN_370 07-26-2016 09:59 AM

So infiniti sent me a reservation brochure and offering gifts if I purchase a Q60?

$650 toward my purchase.

My choice of one of these gifts:

A free night @ Rosewood breakfast included.

Curated Culinary Experience

Bose Soundtouch 2.0 series III Wireless music system.

Tagra-Lite Max expandable carry on.
Or
Go pro hero4 silver.

So infiniti is bribing people to buy a Q60. Lol.

That Q50 DAS first drive review I think is going to make this car a hard sell in steer by wire form.

Not yet. Haven't taken advantage of the test drive yet. But they're pushing that Q on me hard.

Not bribing, incentivising lol

They have that stuff listed on their website for whoever preorders the car gets a gift. None of that aside from the GoPro is worth anything to me lol

Definitely the Go Pro. Infiniti's marketing is definitely pushing the Q60.

NissanFreak81 07-26-2016 01:38 PM

The car looks to be a beast, at least in Red Sport form, but think I am going to hold out for the IPL version!

/Angelo350Z/ 07-26-2016 01:55 PM

I'm interested in the Q60, but I need a car that seats 5. Has anyone driven both the Q50 Red Sport and BMW 340? Curious how these two compare.

sunkist350z 07-28-2016 05:33 PM

2017 Infiniti Q60 Sports Coupe Priced From $38,950 In The US

Car looks good, wish they had a manual, hopefully the z35 will cover that :D

NissanFreak81 07-29-2016 08:01 AM

Very reasonable prices. Of course they don't have the prices for the red sport version yet, as that is the only one I am focused on getting.

RicerX 07-29-2016 11:49 AM

Alright - the call signs are here.

The omission of the Red Sport guise from the pricing model (and subsequent delayed availability) really points to something else going on here, and I'm betting that has to do with a platform sharing of some sort... with some sports car whose namesake is the final letter of the alphabet.

Think about it... why else delay it? The Q60 is already going to go on sale in two other trims, and the powertrain from the Red Sport is already on the lots in the Q50.

The delay has to do with the announcement of the 2018 Z. I'm going with my gut on this!

Or maybe you're reading too much into it not are forgetting that Nissan always has a 5 or 6 month delay for the highest performance model. The 2009 Z debuted for sale late February that year. The Nismo debuted mid-August that year. Red sport is the old IPL.
