2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 Runs 1/4-Mile On Performance Data Recorder: Video

Nice honest effort here by the owner, not on a track. This car is impressive!

The owner's story sounds like he might have money shifted that thing. Be interesting to see what rpm it blew up at. I'll bet the ecu has that little tidbit.

"While making a pull from 35 mph I accelerated and shifted short of redline and boom".... Engine not even broken in yet... I wonder if GM will still honor the warranty?

*NVM, the guy is getting a brand new engine. Good thing for warranties... GM charges 24k for an LT4 crate engine.

It'd probably be a PR nightmare if they didnt honor it though lol

I read the comments on the linked thread. Sounds like a bunch of arm-chair bench "racers" who don't have a clue about anything.

The C6 ZR-1 does the same exact thing.

The fact that GM got this new fire-breathing motor to meet emission standards is just bonkers anyway. The amount of heat that thing must make through the exhaust etc must be crazy.

I'd have test pipes and a tune done within 48hrs of driving off the lot.

And, after years doing track days with NASA in two different cars (Civic and WRX) and seeing a variety of cars on track, there are very very very few that roll off the showroom floor and don't need some noteworthy track prep. Whether its cooling, tires, pad compounds, etc etc.

This article isn't really newsworthy IMO.
