RX9 Anyone?
|
No desire for a rotary, lol
|
In the time it took to read that article, the motor lunched its apex seals. :rofl2:

Looks amazing. Better than a Z.

To bad this is just what an artist wishes Mazda would make.

wow yes please Mazda build it! As a former FD3S owner one of the best cars owned and most unreliable, I would buy one in a heartbeat, I miss the RX :(

Please try to keep other cars discussions in the other cars section. Thanks. Moved to the correct section! |

Great looking car. Will never happen. The RX line, while iconic, was an economic loser for Mazda.
|
no thank you... had a rx8... no power and nothing but engine trouble... complete engine replacement at 18 months/20,000 miles... drove it for another 20,000 miles and traded it when it started showing the same trouble signs... great looking car but that's it

Mazda/10

Looks great. I would wait for someone to blow up the motor so I can buy the shell and drop a nice LSx.
|
amazing what a pencil can do in the 1/4 mile

I'll belive it when I see it. To all those band wagoners jumping ship....traders!

Like the front but the rest looks like it is trying too hard.

I second this motion |
I had fun with my 82 RX7 until I had to get the carb rebuilt and shortly thereafter blowing the apex seals. Traded it for a nissan frontier and been a nissan fan since. The wankel is a powerful engine but they don't last very long.
|
With all the time Mazda has had over the years, lets hope they figure out the reliability issues and gas consumption the 13B engine had with this new 16X rotary.
|
I had an '87 rx-7... A blast to drive, obviously when it was running and not in the shop getting the engine or transmission replaced :shakes head:
^ True story ^ |
:wtf2:
|
Concept. Will see 50% of it on production.

Lots of people are getting at the reliability of the Rx. It was not too reliable and needed a quart of oil everytime I filled up my tank. But the RX 7 was the most balanced FR platform I've ever driven. It wasn't nose heavy, it cornered like a star. It was pretty damn fast for only 255hp. It was a sick car.
Not to mention it was the most exotic looking of all affordable sports cars back then. All that car needs are design & metal quality updates, it doesnt even need a full redesign and it's 21 years old in design. IMHO It's the most timeless affordable sports car in recent history. |
By the time this Sh*t goes to production line I would possibly afford to buy a used GTR or a ZO6 C7.
With that I'am a happy camper! |
looking at how fugly their mx5 turned out in production form, i dont think the concept rendering(?) actual proto(?) is even close to wat it might really look like at the end.

:iagree: and reliability goes down the drain when people slap on huge single turbos without a tune. My FD dynoed 480rwhp with a tune at 20lbs of boost on a hks t51 single turbo.
Car had over 100k miles when I sold it. Quote:

These guys seem pretty sure this is going to happen!
