Makes for a funny story! I didn't realize that is why he got rid of the Ferrari and got the McClaren (12C).

I'd like to see the actual letter. I think you're right. Bet it is trademark related. Still a **** move and +1 to Nissan.

Considering Ferrari selects who is allowed to buy their higher end cars, it wouldn't be a surprise if they have a signed disclosure on new purchases relating to the debranding of their name and logos. If no such document exists, I would have purchased a second Ferrari for the sole purpose of replicating the original car.

Lighten up purrari....It's just a pink cat. If anything, take advantage of the hype and attention it brings. Too much pride about the brand get in the way of bigger things.

if i paid 300k for a 458 and whatever he paid for the wrap then ferrari did this i'd just laugh at them.

what are they gonna do? repo a car he paid for in full?

in the end ferrari is just an uptight bunch of cunts if this is how they treat their customers.

deadmou5 should just go with the GTR :tiphat:

sidenote: Deadmau5 just took an awesome shot at disney lol

so disney tried blocking him from trademarking his logo for reasons of it being too similar to theirs.

his response was tweeting a cease and desist order from his lawyer to disney for using one of his songs without his permission.

well played deadmau5 :tiphat:

You are correct. You can't even sale your used ferrari for a profit. Certain models atleast. If you try then ferrari can buy it back for the list price you bought it for. Its part of the agreement you sign when you buy(first right of refusal). This way if guys are buying their cars and not driving them hoping to resale down the road for a profit then ferrari has the first right to buy back. they want their cars on the road, not in storage. I don't know for sure but I bet they only sent that letter because of the contract they signed when he bought it. Probably something in there that allows ferrari to protect their brand.

Nissan should just give this guy a GTR just for good PR. I hate companies like that, bunch of uptight azzholes walking around. This reminds me of when 'Ambercrombie & Fitch' paid the jersey shore actor to not wear there brand cause they were afraid it will ruin it's image. It hurt them more when the news broke out.
