I am kind of surprised but still a bargain. I think they are making room for the smaller 5.3L V8 version that's coming

They need to make the money now. In 2 years they will be selling 6k+ off.

Why im not surprised.

GM is protecting the investment of previous customers, as well as creating value in the brand and using cost to balance supply/demand. It's a win for everyone involved, in my opinion, except those who could not/should not afford the vehicle to begin with.

At least they're being honest about it. "We feel like we can charge more for this thing...and we will".

that's one way to look at it:icon14:. IMO GM is playing the same game the homebuilders were playing when financing on homes were enabled for people that couldn't afford them back in early and mid 2000's. When the car financing bubble burst, they will pay the price

They've also mentioned the high demand causing the car to only sit on lots for an average of 7 days, which is very low. Plus with spring/summer teasing parts of the country, it makes sense.

And yet it's still a bargain of a car for what you get.

I would prefer they do that vs. what Nissan did to every pre-'14 370Z owner out there. "Lowest retained value" is not exactly what a company should aspire to!

Exactly. Supply/Demand in a capitalist system is controlled with cost. It's the 'Murican way, and what's more...it works.

They really need this car to be a huge success, too. While the previous gen Vette was pretty and quick, they need improved sales numbers from that gen.

Although, I read (possibly in Motor Trend or C&D) that Chevy is pulling all of it's normal models out of Europe, except for the Corvette, in the next few years.

Emotional buyers will stimulate the economy most when they need to downgrade on a trade because they can't afford the car. Then the repos... Fugghetabatit!! There will be a lot of those first year.

The C6 was victim to an unpredictable economy.

As opposed to how the government prolonged the ultimate downfall of the housing mkt with stimulous? I'd rather take my medicine all at once, just IMO. It's my job to look at this stuff. I can't stress enough how many indicators I see of a bubble in the auto mkt with financing. When you buy a depreciable asset you have to expect it to .....well......"DEPRECIATE". If you're buying cars like this, buy to enjoy it. If you're having fun, why do you care the value is going down? If you care about that, these cars aren't for you. Buy something cheaper so you lose less

I'm ready to cash in on some investments in order to get the Z06/Z07pkg. I would have to hack the ECU and 86 the GPS overkill though.

C7 sales are up 150% over 2013 with a 6 month waiting list its expected, I remember during the C5 & C6 days of production,:tiphat: late in the year allotments of manuals got short & their would be a 5K premium on whats left. I’m waiting 24 to 36 months, after that if I still want one it will be considered.
