no info out yet, but let the speculation begin

could give a z a run for its money if 300hp

fonzo179 08-05-2013 10:08 AM

Perhaps so. But personally, I would still look at the BRZ as a little man regardless of STI/super street mods/uber racing mods/whatever.

A BRZ STI makes me think of the 5'6" kid back in high school when we played football. All jacked up on roids...sure, no one wanted to challenge him (just like when Stewie from Family Guy was juiced). But at the end of the day, he was still a 5'6" little man. You could sense the social awkwardness when you talked to him.

I would still have minimal respect for the BRZ. Call me arrogant, but I just can't take those BRZ owners seriously. Just doesn't feel right to me. It's like that car jumps out to the younger, jittery, hyper high-school/college crowd (kids getting thrills from BOV's, shifting manual trans in drag races, nitrous, body kits, and swamping the parking lot at Taco Bell at 11pm every single Saturday). FTL.

:rofl2: I was a MASSIVE nerd in school. Any chance to string together words for fun is exciting for me. :icon17:

This car with 300hp and turbocharged from the factory with backing from companies like Cobb would absolutely decimate the little remaining sales of the 370Z.

Quite honestly, if it is turbocharged with 250hp and still comes in around 2800lbs dry, I'm getting rid of my Z for one.

I understand the stigma that comes with the owner groups of certain cars, but you would have to respect the BRZ, what it does, and what it's done (doing) for the segment - driving competition. We have yet to see Nissan's true response, whether it comes in the form of a Z or a spiritual successor to the S-Chassis.

I'd agree somewhat with that impression. Kinda like Civics and even the WRX; it just has this young-person image attached to them, in a way.

But it's hard to ever shake that without upping the price. I really feel that is simply a reflection of price and nothing else. Low price performance.

<6 cylinders = no care

theDreamer 08-05-2013 02:15 PM

Confirmed to be false, the official news was a new BRZ tS version. Upgraded suspension and seats, no power.

ZBro16 08-05-2013 02:19 PM

Oh well. *skips away to his Z*

KERMIT 08-05-2013 06:35 PM

I'm going to place a large bet on "not 300hp"

shadoquad 08-05-2013 06:36 PM

I want them to produce a brz sti. Hopefully with serious wheels and tires, so it will grip rather than slide

If the BRZ STI is 5'6" how tall is the 370Z?

With FI you're now looking at near or over 3000lbs. Subaru weight reduction would probably add a minimum of $3k.to the msrp. But if this cheap-quality mobile is going to cost $37,000 or more due to a stock turbo and weight reduction? Personally I'd hold out till I see the Z35.

Lets speculate if they did come out with one how much it would cost?
