That is why they are being sold cheap as a favor for getting them out off their misery with all the headaches of repairs.
I still love the E39 M5 but I would not keep one.

:iagree: I LOVE the look and the feel they provide for a BRIEF time...

Wanna see something cool:

You got ballz to post up on here doodoopower.

You're the same guy that traded a $110,000 Ferrari 360 modena for a $42,000 Nismo which you paid $46,000 and still upped an extra $3,000 out of pocket????????:wtf2:

You're in the hole about $68,000 and then you wanna come on here and kick stats and use offensive terminology like "jap"?:gtfo2:

I've owned two E34s (530 and 535 European models) and driven newer model 3 and 5 Series, including an E92 M3. Honestly, BMWs really do feel like the ultimate driving machine because of their brilliant chassis. I reached 250 and 260 kph with the 530 and 535, respectively, on the A60 from Bitburg to Kaiserslautern and they felt stable. In fact, they felt more planted than my Z32 and Z33 going at 120 mph.

With that said, they are heavy, over-hyped and over-priced vehicles. I will never buy a BMW unless it's a cheap daily driver. I'm glad I bought another 350Z back in 2008 instead of a 335. More than a handful of my friends had their brand new BMWs sitting at the dealership for quite some time because of warranty issues.

Revive! I just saw this and funny enough I bought my wife an e39 m5 last year. In terms of acceleration to keep it on point, the M5 has way more low end torque and would easily leave my fully bolt on and tuned 370z. The manual gearbox in the M5 is infinitely times better than what my 370z had.

I was thinking a Z with similar mods as mine would be pretty close to the M5 since it has a weight advantage and would be pretty close to 394 hp (not whp of course)

But im really just speculating. Anyone know from experience?

I'm asking because I've always liked them and they are pretty cheap now

I would think with your mods that your HP numbers are rather low, but I could be wrong.
M5's are top end monsters, but also have a lot of low end torque.
Footnote: If you can keep up with a e92 M3, SRT8, SS or ISF then you'll be able to run with a e39 M5. I've beat these M5's in my Tuned/CAI SRT8 before, but to be fair I've also annihilated Z's as well.
I wanna run both my cars against each other, but don't trust anyone enough to drive either of them, but I'm sure my SRT8 would run circles around my lightly modded Nismo.

Yes, THAT is ridiculous (In a good way)!

You're nuts. Back in the day , in the army, my friend had an 03 M5. Was bought new. He was the owner of the company that did landscaping for vassar college. At the the time...it was sick. Youre on par or bettering it. Thing is a money pit man.
