holy bananas !! look at the tires and the setup....

BanningZ 07-20-2009 04:38 PM

a little wacky but I'd sport this car. Easy $10K on that transmission with conversion i would think

phelan 07-20-2009 05:16 PM

The shifter is the best part of that entire car XD

Celcius 07-20-2009 05:38 PM

Blasphemy!

Where can I get one of those custom gear shift labels? Do they come in carbon fiber?

TARDCORE 07-20-2009 05:51 PM

wonder if the condition of those tires will affect resell value

nightfire 07-21-2009 02:10 PM

haha wow!

LiquidZ 07-21-2009 02:30 PM

I feel like I could walk into the exhaust pipe.

FuszNissan 07-21-2009 02:33 PM

CBRich 07-21-2009 05:34 PM

2JZ-GTE - nuff said. They can make 1000 WHP on a stock block and crank. And judging by how much work went into the REST of the car, I'd assume he'd probably doing at least 600-700 WHP, minimum. I think it was dyno-ed recently, so I'll try to dig up the sheets lol.

IMWEZL 07-22-2009 04:12 AM

6 160lbs/hr injectors
Custom 14 gallon fuel cell in spare tire well

That's about 10 minutes worth of fun! Not a fan of the body but nicely done sleeper.

AK370Z 07-22-2009 10:10 PM

Talk about a sleeper!

XwChriswX 07-22-2009 11:41 PM

Why would you do such a thing, and somehow get no press out of it? Did they never send pics/info to mags to get a shoot done, or have I just not seen a copy...?

smurfblu13 07-23-2009 02:31 AM

Dude, it's a car that has mad horsepower.

Sooooo many out there that do, no story there.

Although it is a beemer with a Supra engine doesn't mean much these days. People are steady putting engines in cars that produce crazy HP and even TQ. No big deal in my book.

I beg to differ on that one... Every where I look, it seems someone took an RB-26 and put it in a Geo Tracker or some ****, and it gets front page pics with some other dumb slut draped all over it. I'm beginning to think that engine has it's own cult-like following lol.

smurfblu13 07-23-2009 11:16 PM

Don't get me wrong that is an accomplishment, and it's a cool car. I just see cars like this too often and to me they have lost the shock factor.

I agree. Hell, I'd rather like to see it in reverse... Take a Geo Tracker engine, drop a turbo thats the same size of the engine, and get it to make double digits of HP. THAT would be impressive...

smurfblu13 07-23-2009 11:24 PM

:icon18:

MightyBobo 07-24-2009 05:28 AM

I dont think theres any shock factor intended. The owner JUST finished the car, and probably wont even pursue a magazine spread at all unless they come looking for him. Such is the way of many cars that have been built in Omaha. Those include a twin-turbo 2000 Silverado that made about 1200 HP/torque and was good for 9's at 5000 lbs (Hot Rod mag readers will recognize this truck as the one that was a 3-time Drag Week winner). The same owner of that truck decided to do a budget build, and put a stock long block 5.3L used in newer GM trucks, into an old Ford Fairmont, and threw a custom built single turbo on it. It ran mid 9's, and the whole project cost them something to the tune of $3000 at the most. The motor was never touched initially until they got a free LS6 Z06 cam and threw it in there, which got them ~50 WHP.

Im sure most of you probably havent heard of either of these vehicles, but I cant give enough props for some of the innovative fabricators in the Omaha area. Some of the ideas they come up with are brilliant and new.

If any of you can find me many other 2JZ-GTE swapped E36's out there that are NEARLY as clean as this and can actually run down a track rather than just be backed out of a trailer and hand-pushed into some dumb car show, please feel free to post up :)

CBRich 07-24-2009 07:27 AM

I had a friend who just sold a 1000 whp Supra. The thing was super clean too, I'll have to dig up some pics.

XwChriswX 07-24-2009 11:13 AM

Thats cool and all, but how many 1000HP supra's do you hear about? It just seems like its TOO commonplace to me... Not to bash the car and all. Just my thoughts..

More than most other cars lol. The sad and unfortunate downfall of having a VERY stout motor with tons of potential, I suppose. Only serves to bring the achievement down for others lol.

XwChriswX 07-24-2009 11:18 AM

Yep... You wanna impress me, I want 1500 HP NO Turbo hahaha

N/A power is the new cool, IMHO. Im more impressed with that.

XwChriswX 07-24-2009 11:26 AM

Yeah. It shows more work went into the inside parts... instead of just strapping a tc/sc on it. (Not including dyno time and all)
