350Z Deadliest Car of 2006-2009

Forgive me if already posted but I did search.

The Most And Least Died-In Vehicles Of 2006-2009 | The Truth About Cars

I think this has a lot to do with demographic and not the car. A commenter in the article noted that the G35 and/or the G37 weren't even listed.

Oh well, I'm not getting rid of mine.

Driving like an asshat will get you killed no matter what you drive. :)

In those days, the 350z's were high quality cars that cost the same as a low quality shyt-box stang. It was just as fast and the only other respectable "fast RWD's" was the M3, GTO and corvette which cost a lot more ($33k-$50k. The z had performance not too far behind those cars and were really cheap.
Most entry 350z's could be had for less than $25k new or used with all options.

The number of azzhats in the Z reflect the lack of good sports cars at the time that were affordable. Rx-8's took a long time to get respect as well. It was considered a downgrade from the Rx-7.

Nissan's just don't do so hot in crashes I don't think, at least, violent crashes. I have NEVER seen anything but Nissans literally ripped into front and rear pieces in crashes on public roads.

That said, the 350Z was the most powerful, closest to "neutral" weighted car available in its price-bracket for that time. It has all the elements required to cause issues.

Easy come easy go. You watch them live fast you watch them die slow. Whatever.

Nailzs 03-25-2013 04:32 PM

A few years back a guy that was putting tires on my Eclipse, who drove a 350Z, at a Tires Plus told me he was racing a guy on Hwy 60 in Hillsboro county Fl doing 130+ with a donut spare on the front of the car. The spare was on the car in the parking lot and watching him drive other peoples cars around the building I believed his story.

I took a pretty nasty hit in my 09. I came out with nothing wrong except severe eye irritation from the airbag. A friend of mine was hit in a maxima by a semi. the car hot the wall and his car flipped over 5x. He walked out with nothing more than a bruised shoulder.

Both instances the cars were totalled, but the cabins were untouched . Thats what matters most.

my 9yr old G which shares the same chassis is still scratchless...

Looks like you guys are lucky. Highest chance of dying is in a Nissan. Doesn't mean you WILL die.

cossie1600 03-26-2013 09:13 AM

You can buy a Corvette and die from old age too

Although I think the Bieber drives a heavily modded Caddy, and Queen Pelosoi drives USAF 757. Her personal carbon footprint matches the entire country of Lesthoto!

And Prius drivers usually dont care about the environment they just want to blow by in the HOV lane and sneer condescendingly as they drive around in their toxic wast dumps of vehicles.

I fly Boeing 737's, and blow through a Prius worth of fuel every minute! lol.

Given they sold more Prius than Corvette since the 2nd generator Prius came out, I would say there are more of their fans than creepy old white dudes.

Considering that the average age of a Prius owner is 50, that's a pretty weak leg you're standing on...careful of the hip.

Most Prius owners I know buy them because they don't have a damn clue that spending $25K on a "new" vehicle vs. their old "whatever it is" that's paid off isn't going to "save money" because it gets better mileage.

Or they are rich girls who like to be "trendy". We have a lot of Prius owners with Centenary stickers on their rides (local $20K/year liberal arts college).

cossie1600 03-26-2013 01:00 PM

You might want to search for a more up to date survey given the 3rd gen Prius brought the median age way down with a more mainstream design. Don't worry about the health though, the Prius owners are still younger than Corvette owners and they are more active based on JD Powers' survey.

People buy whatever they want, the market will take care of itself right? I learned that from Foxnews I think, always preaching about freemarket and such.

What's wrong with being trendy? Sorry I don't want to be a grumpy old white dude.

Oh yeah as Gerald Broflovski would say, "THHHHHHHHANNNNNNNKSSSSSSS".

Some people just love attention (positive or negative). Self esteem is at an all time high for people you know.
