Thanks for the review. I love the looks and have always wondered what it would be like to drive one. In 1995, I bought a top of the line Miata instead of the 1st Z3 and I've always had second thoughts. Still have the Miata though and love it. Also, love my Z.

No knock on your car. I would have a M coupe if I didn't have the 370. As much as I love the car, I just feel the super long front end is a little bit weird.

It's as close to Peter Griffin's car as I have seen in modern times. It's like the historical Spanish Conquistador codpiece. An epic allusion to manhood. Ironically, it was designed by women (presumably they found its shape very pleasing). Even more a testimony to its visual cues alluding to massive manhood!

^ Actually the first gen Z4 (2002 - 2008) was designed by Chris Bangle. It's the current generation that was designed by a woman, hence the longer front end :p

Hmm okay? I have enough self confidence to not care about what other guys think?

I still think it's a great car. Just didn't drive how I expected. I don't feel as comfortable in it as I do my Z. Everyone has a car that truly sings to them and is the "right" car for them. The Z4 just wasn't that car for me. The SLK55 AMG I felt drove much better for me in terms of roadsters. I love the Z4s looks though. Long hoods don't bother me coming from a 68 Vette that puts it to shame. My Supra too, had a really long nose.

I love the SLK55 AMG as well. It was on my list when I went looking for a roadster with power. Had I found a nice one prior to the Z4 MR showing up, I might be driving one today. My old Lexus SC300 had that long nose too, must be a "straight six" thing :p

+1 on the SLK.

Looks like I'm taking the Z4 to the track next month! We have a small track around here that is just too much for the 370s braking system, so I am taking her car.

I hope you stay out of the doghouse :icon17:

its either hers or my mustang with the skinny stock tires. My brakes are powdercoated and pretty and I have ceramic pads, her car has free brake pads from BMW, so hers it is! It performed great at Road Atlanta too.

Yeah, this is true ^ ^. And sometimes a certain car will be just right for a short period of time, not forever. It can be like breaking up w/ a serious girlfriend/bestfriend, but it's part of the growing process. :p  :ughdance:

I enjoy as I get older and become more open to different types/kinds of automobiles for new & exciting experiences. There are only a few makes that I don't like. RIght now, I'm getting more into Ford, Chevrolet, Cadillac- i would love to own an ATS sports sedan :tiphat:

What's your brake set up on the Z?
