I think the Q50 is a very handsome design. A good idea to keep the 3.7 liter displacement.
I would love to drive one and compare it to the new Lexus IS, then the Teutonic trio (c class, 3 series, A4). I really liked driving the prev. gen. IS250 AWD, maybe more so than even the 328xi. It's kind\a funny-ironic how the chief engineer of the new IS, Mr. Furuyama, talks about 'measuring' and 'focusing' on FUN TO DRIVE as key to building the new car... when "fun to drive" is not quantifiable nor measurable, really. I guess that kind of mindset is reflected in the cars Lexus builds. 5 5 . |
I'd definitely give the Cadillac ATS a try at ownership. Why not support our own domestic car industry, design, and engineering, ya kno ? ? . '
|
Probably go for the fun, fuel-efficient turbo-4 , too. With the manual tranny. That ATS chassis is great- - - the lighter engine would exploit it while keeping weight off the front axle/wheels ya

An updated 3.7 to me is not a terrible idea. I just feel that if that's the route we take? We should be putting most of our R&D in a 400lb weight reduction and fine tuning the 3.7 to be even more aggressive than it already is. |

Unfortunately I'm not in the financial position to buy a ~$40k car, but I would like to choose American: The Cadillac ATS 2.0T w/ manual tranny:driving::driving::driving: I've heard the manual is somewhat of a 'dog', but I'm sure the combo of manual w/ turbo-4 would be So Fun 55 |

My favorite american car progressions have been. Cadillac ATS Jeep Grand cherokee Chevy Corvette Chevy Camaro Chrysler 300 Ford Focus ST Chevy Sonic I think the above line-up has shown serious progression and philosophy changes in the American market. |
The dash is very Benz like. I don't know, doesn't have an aggressive or sporty styling.

I also drove the jeep Grand Cherokee Overland summit:tup:. I'll leave that for another thread. I saw the Q50 in person. Here are my opinions: LOOKS: Pictures don't do it justice. I know many of you are picturing this car being comparable to a 3 series, but it's a new "lithe-hood" design. It's longer than an ATS, 3 series but s midge shorter than a 5 series. The car in reality, just looks like an evolution of the G37 sedan, BUT. It's like they added, dramatic lines, gave it more damatic wheels and has a slightly lower stance. slight but noticeable. The model I saw was the Q50 hybrid and I think if the Infiniti is priced fairly and can at least tie the ATS in performance. (Which I think it will beat in performance?) It will be a popular car. The front end of the Q50 is nowhere near as awkward as in pics. In fact, it's dramatic and muscular. So muscular that maybe some people may possibly be expecting more from the sedan??? Will it deliver in that category? I don't know... But it sure looks the part. The Q50 is a nice and very classy looking car. nicer than the 3 series by a small margin, Nicer than the ATS by alot. I find the ATS to be nice in its styling but compared to the Q and BMW, the cadillac lacks the dramatic character lines of the other two... But I think the infiniti makes a bolder statement over the BMW 3 series in terms of looks. Just on looks... The Q50 is a surprising win. Pictures don't do it justice. I wasn't impressed with the Q looks from photo or video. I don't feel like I saw the greatest car since sliced bread either, But i like it over the other two cars mentioned in terms of style. The ATS behind the wheel will be hard gto beat. I; m just being homest with that one. |
^ would you buy one?

You should get into politics because you say so much without saying a Gotdamn thing... :gtfo2: Here's your limp mode bimmer. 2008 Infiniti G37 vs 2007 BMW 335i - Head to Head - Motor Trend G37 Vs. 335i - Infiniti and BMW Face Off At The Track! Pt. 1 - YouTube G37 Vs. 335i - Infiniti and BMW Face Off At The Track! Pt. 2 - YouTube Here your links... As always i provide proof while a-holes just talk shyt. You have so much to say and NOTHING TO PROVE YOUR DEBATES. In this C&D article the BMW328i won, but the G37s sedan destroyed the BMW in almost all track proven tests. BMW won for quality. Our debate here is if infiniti makes a less performing car than BMW. Well that didn't happen here. The G37 cost was equal to the 328 as well. Of course, C&D shows bimmer bias when bimmer loses in performance, but BMW won for gotta have a german car factor... Classic Catr and driver BS. http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...7-sport-page-4 You can find the other two yourself. Lastly, you can debate this topic in the right thread. http://www.the370z.com/lounge-off-to...niti-g37s.html I'm done with you man. You're a smart guy. So smart you say dumb shyt. You can keep posting, but you will be talkng to yourself . You got your links now... eat em. Good day. |
1) I thought we were talking about coupes? But that's ok, I'll play anyway.
2) I thought it was 2013? The best you have is five year old articles? 3) I find it laughable you were able to find a way to prove your argument by pitting a 328 against a G37. I would hope the Infiniti V6 could romp on the 4 cylinder BMW. Let me break it down the concept of product lineup for you dude: BMW 328i <> G25 BMW 335i <> G37 BMW 335is <> G37S BMW M3 <> G37 IPL (lol) I know the BMWs are more expensive, but that's not what we're arguing about here. People shopping for luxury vehicles tend to gravitate toward the better vehicle without as much regard for things like MPG and MSRP. You just tried to "prove me wrong" with links about a car that is the premium model for the segment against a car that is the entry model for the segment. Thanks for the laughs man. Nice chatting with you. |

My earliest statement was. The G37 historically had a marginal advantage over the 3 series. You made it a big deal. Lastly. 2013 Bimmers have there new models. To quantify your assertions of the 2013/14 BMW against the G seres. The2014 Q50 and 2015 Q60 have to come out. You're arguing opposing generations which doesn't make sense. Did you NOT SEE THE MT video REVIEW... HAHAHAHAHA. Your timeline is wrong and your argument is void. Whatever dude... Time to shut up. Lets highlight. You went on a CVT rant and talking about how the Q60 will probably be inferior to a BMW. I said the marginal advantage thing and the CVT wont ever go in an infiniti. and forgot about the Jx passenger car. From me making one mistake on the JX you somehow asserted that you know all and I don't know shyt. My statement was the Q50 , whether people think is ugly or not had the potential of being as good or better than the BMW. You went off on past tangents that would prove your future analysis. You claimed 3 series was a clear winner in past reviews. I proved you wrong. I gave you video of two coupes engaging but you focus on the 328 sedan. I only showed the sedan one to further prove the performance value of infiniti. You keep nissan hating and ford bimmer blowin bruh. I respect and love all cars. I'm not going to discredit a car company over personal biases. Both bmw and infiniti are good cars. Infiniti makes better suspensions imho and BMW better engines. The overall performance is marginally been going to infiniti. It's marginal. Big Fvckin deal. Get over yourself. DONE |
LARGE FONTS!
Ok dude. You win. If only I had thought of using large fonts to prove my point. |

Coming in here to address something else. My edits were made to fix some horrid typos, not to change or distort posts for my benefit. Thats why on the last post where you claim i changed my post when i was talking about "If infiniti did ever use a cvt, it would be on a passenger car." Notice, the time and dates. Also notice, i copy/pasted and not forum quoted. So your accusation is false. This part of the post is an addition. No other editing has been done on past posts or this post. I only added this paragraph. thats why there's an edit. Don't like being accused of doing wormy shyt i don't need to do... Just tried to help a lady out. Peace. |
Oh dude... it really doesn't matter. You're so wrapped around the axle about this whole thing. I offered my opinion as part of a conversation and you didn't like it. We discussed further. You made several inaccurate points. Then you inject childish statements like the one above "Just tried to help a lady out." Seriously man.
It sounds a lot like you work for Nissan or Jatco from how butthurt you got over the fact that I didn't necessarily like this Infiniti picture that you posted. It's also hilarious that you don't understand the technology in your own car from its origins and terminology to its shift times. It's mind-numbing that you don't consider the G or the Q to be a passenger car but the JX is considered to be a passenger car. They're ALL passenger cars! Truth of the matter here, really, is that you posted something and wanted everyone to lick its balls and when someone didn't, you got butthurt. I don't need to change my post, increase my font size, or change my font color to make that point. Furthermore - if you really were confident in your assertions, factual information, etc, you probably wouldn't have to say things like "just tryin to help a lady out" and repeating my own quips back to me. Seriously... how old are you? I know there will likely be some further childish attempt at having the last word here sometime later, but I hope this thing gets locked up and you can inject your all-knowing fourth grade mentality in some other thread. |

Oh so you're not a girl??? Sorry, I thought you were judging by the way you go on and on and on and on. Even when you still haven't proven your main arguments. You spend days analyzing potential flaws in my posts. Then, 2 or 3 days later after intense use of your thesaurus, you come on here with snappy come-backs that only took 65 hours to create. You bore me!! Go away!!! Look who's editing now. Good thing you took out that premium member BS |
I actually edited to be nice.
Since you're busy playing in 2008, I leave you with this: In Contrast: Audi S5 vs. BMW 335i vs. Infiniti G37S And since you seem to think the G is even marginally competitive to the BMW, I will leave you with these sales figures, which are very likely signs of the future for these new snoozefest Infiniti Qs: BMW 3 Series Wins 2012 Compact Luxury Sports Sedan Sales Crown, Infiniti G in Third Read more: http | German Car Forum |
I will also add that, for the record, I have a job. So while there are those that live and die over every single one of the posts made in this forum, there are those of us that pay for our own 370Zs and can't make a post within the aforementioned 65 hour timeframe requirement because they have actual work to do.

Here's that marginal victory from another named source. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=ejBhtMIG_50 The camaro v6 sold 60,000 units last year. The Z sold 5,500 units last year. Doesn't make the Camaro a better car. Like I said a long time ago. You're a smart guy who says a lot of dumb shyt. GOOD-BYE |
iggylist updated.
|
So Motor Trend is a no name source? Here, I'll spell out my original link a little bit better for you. Or do I need to make it bold red letters?
BMW 3 Series Wins 2012 Compact Luxury Sports Sedan Sales Crown, Infiniti G in Third - WOT on Motor Trend I'm wasting my breath here anyway - even when I find something that disproves the bias you spew, you can't even man up and admit it like I did when I was incorrect about the manufacturer of the Z's transmission. |
Quote:
Again, you're cross arguing. the statement that matches that article is: "The camaro v6 sold 60,000 units last year. The Z sold 5,500 units last year. Doesn't make the Camaro a better car. Like I said a long time ago. You're a smart guy who says a lot of dumb shyt." The other link was the germaphile bias source that I discredited. Sales are an indication of only BMW's status and image, They are the most unreliable cars yet people buy them. We live in a country where image is everything and substance is nothing. Your posts alone prove that theory. Triple's close this thread. Really. |
I will also add that, in 2012/2013, there is a BMW 335is, which romps the Infiniti. It makes nearly 100lb-ft of torque more than the Infiniti.
Earlier you accused me of benching the current incarnation of the BMW against a future Infiniti when you can't get out of the year 2008. A V6 Camaro is $10K less than a Z. I'm talking class-for-class, segment for segment. Sure I could throw out there that the Camry sold more units than a Z. What sense would that make? Oh... that's right. You're not into making any sense whatsoever. |
