Red Bull F1 team helping Infiniti IPL line
Also read something in autoweek about a much higher HP Q50. Could be good things for the Z too!
Infiniti IPL Performance Cars to Get Input from Red Bull F1 Team |
|
I'll be more excited if they have a GT-R or 370z that has input from Vettel/Red-Bull Racing.
And make it limited edition... :yum: |
interesting, but agree apply to the 370z or GT-R
|
I just want a good Nissan based motor to swap.
|
I can tell you one thing, don't be idiots and overprice it. The current IPL was seriously way overpriced for what they gave. And the talks of them pricing it higher than the GTR is just insane. If thats the case, it better have around 600 HP, nicer interior that isnt two tone, and paint that isn't the biggest POS in the world

What's not to love? Put some new tech in the luxury division, trickle it down to the sports cars in the standard division. That's how many things come to be.
|
This goes hand in hand with the Nissan/Infiniti Tech divorce. back in 2011, it was said that the Z and G will No longer share platforms... So while I'm hoping some new tech will trickle into the Z. Don't expect too much of the info you're reading on Infiniti to trickle into the next gen Z.
I didn't see this thread, I made a duplicate, my bad, but I have a second article attached to mine as well. IPL researching building an MR car. |
Infiniti needs a flagship sports car if it is to survive.
Right now, Infiniti is barely even a competitor to BMW/Audi/Mercedes. They need to change that, and they need to change that very quickly. I think they could easily topple Lexus if they got the right guys in the decision-making room, but taking on BMW and Audi is going to take some serious legwork. Don't think of an Infiniti flagship sports car as competing with the GT-R. Think of it as competing against the SLS AMG, the LF-A, and the R8 GT. The GT-R is more of a Porsche/M3 fighter. It doesn't have the luxury flair that the Infiniti will have when it shows up. |
