Nice Sam. I want more videos of your runs though. Invest in a GoPro! :D

G37Sam 04-25-2013 02:26 AM

Carbon Signal treats my G! Still under construction.

SgtGoldy 04-25-2013 04:43 AM

Wow, that is amazing looking. I hope they decide to make one for sale  (to be honest I probably wont ever have the $$$ to turbo, but I could totally watch my temps and such on it lol)

Dzel 04-25-2013 04:53 AM

Wow so much fun! Very nicely done.

G37Sam 04-25-2013 05:28 AM

It did come out very well. Their fabricator is very skilled I have to give it to them. This is not even the finished product as he still needs to smoothen it a little, followed by some Al Cantara goodness.

Dzel 04-25-2013 06:34 AM

If I had an extra LS1 or a RB motor laying around I would love to go this route. I bet all the customization has cost you a pretty penny.

G37Sam 04-29-2013 02:51 PM

The smile on ones face as the boxes come in just never gets old!

Dzel 04-29-2013 02:59 PM

What number of gear is it?

gbrettin 05-13-2013 09:49 PM

Awesome build thread. I'm glad I found this!

SgtGoldy 05-13-2013 11:23 PM

since its been bumped, do you have any updates sam?

G37Sam 05-14-2013 03:07 PM

Thanks guys! @Dzel, these are 4.08s. Haven't gotten the time to install them yet. The short shifter was installed and man, what a difference did it make. Driving on a 10-15 year old shifter with a worn out bushing was no fun.

Bigger stuff coming soon but it's just getting too damn hot over here.

G37Sam 05-30-2013 08:10 AM

Time for some updates!

I finally fitted the 4.083 gears and wow! Car feels so much lighter! Quicker off the line, car can roll at 4mph without stalling! :D I am done with performance mods for the summer.

Took a pic of the exhaust while it was out. Needs a little polishing eh?

http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps994dca22.jpg

Time to tidy up the interior a little now, here's what just arrived:

SgtGoldy 05-30-2013 08:13 AM

Awesome Sam! Yea, your exhaust can use a bit of polish.

G37Sam 06-14-2013 07:10 PM

Weather was a little decent so I decided to record a quick one with the current setup almost maxed out. Enjoy!

Wow, that engine sounds amazing.

G37Sam 06-16-2013 12:50 AM

Thanks guys, can't wait to get a decent turbo in it and some cams!

G37Sam 07-08-2013 04:16 PM

Quick update, been doing some interior work, here's a before pic of what it looks like today:

http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/q...psc8ad6267.jpg

And an after pic! :D

http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/q...ps8edc3bab.jpg

Man did it feel so good to have it all cleaned up inside! I also hooked up the fuel and oil pressure sensors finally, the car was cutting a while back and had it narrowed down to either the ECU cutting fuel or Fuel Starvation. Fuel starvation confirmed! Surge tank here I come! Good to have all 8 readings working meanwhile

Can't cut corners with a project like this :)

G37Sam 10-18-2013 03:21 AM

It feels good to have the car on the dyno finally (and not blowing up haha) :) I had to stop before I maxed out at 9psi due to the fuel pumps overheating and dropping in pressure from all the heat soak. On the road it was rock solid. I'll be back soon, enjoy this video in the meantime :)

How can you maintain your fuel temps to help with that issue?

fuel cooler? we have them on some of the jets :)

SgtGoldy 10-18-2013 05:18 PM

CarbonSignal posted a pic of your G and their new diffuser on InstaGram yesterday. Gorgeous as always Sam.

G37Sam 10-18-2013 07:00 PM

Thanks guys. This issue only pops up on the dyno or when I sit in traffic for like an hour. The moment I'm on the highway again things cool down. I'll probably end up relocating the surge tank and external pumps to my trunk area rather than between the mufflers.

Isamu 10-19-2013 07:48 AM

check out any kind of liquid cooler tho incase you wanna be on the safe side :)
I am looking at a few coolers for trans fluid, and a diff cooler ;)

What a badass build. I can't believe it took me this long to find this thread!

That's a good idea. But what do I do with the overheating pumps? Maybe I'll just relocate the whole thing to my trunk and suck it up.

:tiphat:

hrm. that's a good question, but I was gonna say relocation is probably a must do.

G37Sam 10-28-2013 04:07 PM

Strongly considering it.

ok I just came across this build after thinking about an RB swap in my 370. Props to you for diving in man. Siiiiick build. ANy chance you could do a brief parts list. How much money you think is in this swap?
