2013 SRT Viper Preview & Corvette ZR1 Comparison

Last night the car review website Edmunds.com brought out a pre-production SRT Viper and a brand new ZR1 for a meet & greet.

I was able to attend and snap a few shots to share:

I really like this rear profile with the blacked out center and integrated spoiler

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-BwKp7rzmQ4...0/IMG_1985.JPG

The hood is full carbon, and really light compared to the older models

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-d7P3ZNjT3H...0/IMG_2002.JPG

Much improved interior, seats were firm and supportive

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8uxraFkAyo...0/IMG_2003.JPG

Gauges were all digital

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-jUrygt6NbZ...0/IMG_2008.JPG

ZR1 was subtle compared to the loudness of the Viper

Interior is in serious need of an upgrade

I have gotten to see both the street and race vipers in person a few times. I personally like the glaring Alfa Romeo styling que of the front grille. LOL.

Here's to hoping for a street version of the GTS-R!

I agree that interior is terrible. I realize upgrades add to the cost but you would think after years of the public complaining about vette interiors they would change it up. :shakes head:

Ugh man, 100k+ cars and look at those interiors!! American car manufacturers just can't get that one thing right. Otherwise everything else is great.

As much as I do agree. The GTR is not amazing either...

Side note, not try to fight about it... text can come off like I am being a douche. Just saying it.

I think MOST car company's need to work on their interiors...

I know this is WAY more expensive but the look of the eventador's interior is amazing. And you can't tell me it costs THAT much...

GT-R's interior looks fine, imo. the vipor's interior is much better than wat it looked like years ago. im more concerned (or put off) by the parting lines on the exterior...and the tibron-ish shape. the vette's interior needs to get rid of that mazda3 looking steering wheel and those rounded vents. it doesnt work consistent. it's like someone threw things at it and just stuck on.

the lambo better look good at that price.

:iagree: about the steering wheel it's stands out even more bc it looks like the same steering wheel you get on a cobalt SS just with a ZR1 emblem. To I would want something more unique for 100k

The Aventador in the above pic is the base interior, with options it will have full carbon fiber and full alcantara interior.

The GTR black edition interior is definitely a bit more well put together than the other American competition. Their interiors look similar to their 20k cars they offer.

I think there is a consensus among most enthusiasts on certain interiors that manufacturers don't seem to heed. Let's face it, every interior is just a collection of plastic molds shaped certain ways and some wrapped in different coverings, leather, fake leather, alcantara, CF etc. How all these shapes and coverings are put together conveys a certain flow and feeling, aside from the functionality required of course.
I think the Z interior is well done not just because I happen to like it but the use of shapes and materials makes it seem "richer" than it is. (Except for the silver has gauge. :shakes head:)
Aventador.......... :yum:

out of the interior's i see in this thread, the vette needs the most help. the theme is just scattered.

I know there are mixed reviews about the front grille but I actually like it

There is a new Corvette that should drop in 2013, let's hope they do something about it

I would have to disagree, the Viper has a nice interior in person. Cramped but a quality feel.

I would have to disagree, I actually like the GT-R interior plus it has that great Navigation/Center Console setup

You can thank Audi for that Aventador interior, my favorite interiors out of all brands for sure

The whole thing needs a refresh, not just the steering wheel haha

I drive a 350z, Nissan did a much better job with the 370z.

But, less fancy stuff in the interior = less stuff to break later :icon17:

DLSTR 12-16-2012 12:40 PM

Lambo interior's have lots of Audi switch-gear :)

Sibze 12-16-2012 12:43 PM

Some American company's know how to make an interior. I just picked up a new Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. The interior kills the M3 I had. Everything is leather (actual Leather not leatherette)
