Great looking bike man. I'd love that model year kawi to go with my model year kawi. :D

Togo 09-29-2009 04:34 PM

Sweet looking GSXR, I'm liking the all black theme.

Snakes709 09-29-2009 11:02 PM

Well i decided to take a stab at some body repair. I never tried this so i didnt know how it would turn out. I decided to take the lower right fairing since i need to replace it anyways since where one of the screws go through...its broken. I'm half way done sanding/priming and all that...still need to get a few more nicks out. And then it will be ready for paint.

http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p...9/IMG_0134.jpg

Considering this is my first time doing body repair...im very shocked at how well it turned out. I might be able to save one of the fairings. Which means i only need to order the front cowl, upper left fairing and lower right fairing.

Just looking at the damage of the bike, what happend? Hit the front brake to hard?

Togo 09-30-2009 04:22 PM

That looks like it was a rough wipe out. If I had to guess, and really thats all I have to go on at the moment, he either low sided on the left and went of the road and it rolled at least once OR he looped it or started to loop it grinding tail on the asphalt came down and lost control of the front and laid it down on the left side. I'm betting more towards the latter but it's just a guess from the pics.

Regardless of how it happened, I'm presuming you are doing ok from the crash so thats good to hear but sorry to hear you never got back into it.

I was on a cruise with about 12 of my riding buddies...we exited one freeway down onto another, it was a closing radius, there was HUGE pot holes everywhere...I don't remember what happened..apparently, my bike flipped several times and I was thrown off of it...the bike landed standing up on a tree...I had a concussion and lost my memory for about 6 hours...don't know exactly what happened...the tank wasn't damaged, nicked or scratch, it was still perfect...

Togo 10-03-2009 04:34 PM

^ Me too but I'm partial to the Bonneville T100. I really like that one, and I've always loved the Speed Triple although their new Street Triple R looks pretty cool too.

Snakes709 10-10-2009 10:47 AM

Well i did some research and couldnt find what i was looking for. I was trying to find a storage unit for my bike for the winter that is cheap, heated, close by my apartment and has a good security unit. Found one but it wasnt heated. So i got abit of extra space in my dinning room so i said "hmm, should just take the railing out on my patio, lay some wood down and drive the bike in the apartment" And thats exactly what i did...lol

Today ill be ripping off the rear fender, exhaust system, sprockets/chain. And doing the kleen mod and jumper mod.

molamann 10-10-2009 11:35 AM

^
Heh, I did the same when I had to store my bike for the winter. My bike sat in the living room and somehow it just became an extra "chair" when people came over to my house. :/

Snakes709 10-10-2009 11:42 AM

lol...thats awesome, well my is in pieces so it wont be used as a chair, maybe a coat rack..lol

Togo 10-10-2009 03:25 PM

Lol thats great man.

Jumper mod = cheapest +3 RWHP ever! :happydance:

I've got pair block off plates and if I recall it's the same as doing the Kleen mod basically or is the Kleen Air mod. Just be prepared for a few pops on decel especially if you throw on a S/O or Fully.

Snakes709 10-10-2009 03:35 PM

ill be installing full exhaust. Thats actualy what im working on right now, taking the stock on off. I'm still trying to figure out how everything works for the kleen mod, keep reading different things. For the jumper mod, can you use a "self stripping connector" thats all i can find for the damn thing. I was worried about all these mods and my Out Of Province Inspection...which is what i have to do since i just moved from Nova Scotia to Alberta. I talked to the guys at the dealership and told them everything i want to do and they said everything will be fine. But if i get a Fender Elim. I have to put reflector tape on the back just for the inspection.

Togo 10-18-2009 10:47 AM

Wow, did not know about that... kinda kills it for me.. lol

bluzman 10-18-2009 04:47 PM

I was at the local H-D store yesterday. In addition to the news about MV Agusta, I found out that H-D is discontinuing Buell production as well. Here's a link to the announcement made personally by Eric Buell.

http://www.buell.com/en_us/company/

You can tell by watching and listening that he is really affected by this decision. It's no surprise that he feels this way - the Motor Company is basically killing his child.

Nice bike...I have the same stool...heheheh.....

I'm Houston, this is riding season for us...we ride year round...more riders out now, now that it's a lot cooler...

Snakes709 10-23-2009 10:25 PM

Well a little update on whats going on with my bike. I was planning on getting a awesome deal for a muzzy exhaust system...reg. $500...was going to get it for $200, brand new from the dealership but when they told me about the deal they thought i had a ZX636...so it doesnt fit, there was 1 35* bend that caused the midpipe not to fit.

So i installed my new K&N hi-flow filter...did the jumper mod and just did the kleen mod with the ivan block off plates and intergrated tail lights. Its 6*C right now...pretty darn cold but oh well, had to test the bike out. So i brought it out and did a couple pulls...holy **** is this thing alot faster, especially at the top end. So when i get my exhaust i wont have the pops on decel. which is a bonus. I also have a fender eliminator and power commander 3 on the way. Cant wait till the spring/summer...by then ill have sprockets (-1 +2), full exhaust, ignition modual and a good dyno tune. Then in the sumer ill upgrade my brakes and get a stearing damper

I have a 04 Aprilia Mille Factory. Here's a picture from a race in the rain in 2008. I also have a Mille for the street. They are my twins.
