Pretty car, I would have gotten the turbo...

If I were to spend all that extra money and wait all that extra time, I would put it towards a gt3, or even a gt3 rs. But I do love those side vents!

Haha first thing I did when setting up the all the personal settings was check the car's max g readings. That's awesome that you live in Stuttgart! I need to visit someday.

My dad as a 911 Turbo and is thinking of selling it for the new style. I love Porsche's. My dad as been a member of the North American Porsche club since I have been a kid and LOVE going to the Porsche track days.

I see a another die hard Porsche fan in the making!

I'm using it as a daily driver whenever I'm back in Cali, but want to go to Porsche driving school before I track it. Maybe after my lease term is up and the residual has already been paid for.

One of the reasons I chose the Z in the first place

Thanks again for all the kind wishes guys!

ZMan8 12-01-2012 10:49 PM

beautiful!

bigsix 12-02-2012 10:00 AM

I like the "911" emblem in place of 911 Carrera S . . .

I'm surprised you still want to keep the Z after purchasing a 991

RoshDawg 12-02-2012 10:51 AM

Well as I said, I do need two cars as I am living in two different states. Traveling between the two very very often (for work). Either way it will be sold before the residual is due, or once I can settle down in a single city (which won't be anytime soon). Oh and the Z is already paid for, so I'm not loosing that much money sitting on the Z.
But yes I agree on the '911' instead of the '911 carrera s' which is just way too much writing. I would prefer 911 S though, maybe I'll remove the emblems and redo them.

It looks like you've been driving AWD cars , but now you just have rwd. Do you miss that awd grip/handling, or is it just much nicer having the agility and precision of the throttle/rear end ? . .

I absolutely love RWD for the street. It's much more intuitive. Not to mention I love ruining my tires by getting on the throttle mid turn with traction off . And I feel like the dive in through turns is more sharp in RWD setups (from what I've experienced). That being said, I feel a bit safer in AWD setups on the street, and could imagine feeling even safer in a Carrera 4S, knowing that if I mess up the car will fix my mistakes. But the Evo n STi I had were so different from the Z. I had my real fun in those on sand, not on the street. I have actually never driven an AWD sports car (rally cars are not sport cars..) so I can't comment on the difference too much. Perhaps I need to test drive a C4S when they get to the dealers to really see the difference.

Oh and my other option I was choosing from was the GTR!

Mannysrt8 12-02-2012 01:23 PM

fricken amazing car

Zoren 370 12-02-2012 11:27 PM

I'm actually considering getting the Porsche aerokit which looks somewhat like that! I'm going to try to enjoy it stock for the time being though.

And to those who thought the break in on our cars was hard to go through, it's KILLING me with the Porsche! Especially with me being away from home so much, I need to spend all my time whenever I'm in SD driving the car.

Thanks again everyone for all your awesome comments!

I also found an awesome rear diffuser with an undertray (I love diffusers), which costs north of 3000!
It's funny how parts on this car are so much more expensive than parts on the Z (even though z aftermarket parts have great quality). For example, there are many exhaust systems that cost about 7K. The power kit from Porsche which adds 30hp costs 18k! (although it does include sport chrono package and he Porsche sport exhaust). But damn!

Marti 12-06-2012 10:40 AM

hell yeah, man! Congrats.

nmjaxx9 12-06-2012 09:33 PM

yeah that **** is sexy as hell. good pick-up.

Gorgeous car.
Hit me up if you end up wanting exhaust. We developed intake, headers and a couple different exhaust configs for the 991.

ImportConvert 12-12-2012 02:28 AM

Congrats! A beautiful, "complete" car. (not just fast, or just pretty, or just handles well, or just a nice interior, I have always viewed modern 911's as "complete" packages for driver enjoyment.)

The car will be in the shop tomorrow after damaging the front bumper (and possibly more) after running over an unavoidable large piece of debris that was kicked up by another car on the freeway. Will be putting on a nice lip / small splitter during the repairs.
The rental car will be a 2013 boxter though! Excited to drive that for a few days..

Ricks. 12-31-2012 06:25 PM

nice 911 :tiphat:

Oh no, sorry to hear that. Hope it doesn't cost you too much. But on the other hand, it's a perfect "excuse" to start mods.:) Take some pix when it's done! And let us know how you feel about the 2013 boxer. Happy New Year man!:tiphat:

Happy new year to you too!
Luckily my deductible isn't too bad. A part of me hopes the exhaust was damaged so I can have the body shop replace it with the sport exhaust!
Oh and ill be making a boxster vs 370z thread too.

Edit: I realized I've been spelling boxster wrong... Lol

Hahaha! I just realized I spelled boxster more wrong than you! Lol. I'm often picking on people spelling words wrong. Thanks god they haven't found here yet. Otherwise I will get my a$$ burned badly.:icon17: Shhhhh.:ugh2:

I am glad your deductible isn't too bad to cover the damage. Too funny on the exhaust comment. I know exactly what you talking about. Lol! And I am looking forward to reading the boxster vs 370z thread.
