Looks like the Boss Stangs have problems
So I'm tempted to get one as I just sold the motorcycle and have some cash freed up, but I went to their Boss forums and I see bad things....pistons grenading, warped heads, bad trannys, bad clutches, bad crank sensors and CEL's, leaks and other things i don't want any part of. Ford seems to be fixing things for now....but quite a lot of engines need replacement and there are long waits for parts. Think I'm better to get a GTM Stage 1.5 blower and call it a day for the Nismo.

Ford = Fix Or Repair Daily.

I think you answered your own question

I came here and all I saw was blown transmissions, oil consumption problems, seized motors, and things like that.
Ford makes a great vehicle. The PPH on the mustang is lower than the 370Z last I saw. IMO, I would hate my 370Z with a blower. It would be like driving a fast dump-truck. It's just not made for that kind of acceleration/power. The wheel-base is too short, the gears are too short, just a total miss-match. If you want that kind of power, buy a car that comes with it. Z06/Viper/GT500/etc. Having been there, done that, I can tell you that the factory just gets it right. |
Well, it's hard to conclude that the same problems will exist for your Boss 302 if you bought one; However, reading about many cases of faulty motors/mechanicals isn't promising man.

IMHO< You already have the more desirable car: Nissan 370z Nismo

Seriously though. Sports car forums are only good to find out a certain amount of info. Lots of idiots that buy sports cars and abuse them from off the lot with no break in period. Ride around all day at 4400 rpm to make exhaust noise, mismatch basic mods without addressing other components that need to be modded along with... Then wonder why there car is F....d up and complain about it on forums. Quote:
