2013 Porsche Cayman Spotted

The 2013 Cayman has been recently spotted at a warehouse in Atlanta's Airport.

Looks pretty good imo. Always been a fan of the car.

Beautiful. I love the Cayman more than the 911.

Econ 11-16-2012 12:13 PM

I wish they took the 911 taillight design a little more. Only thing I don't love here. I think they are too large.

UNKNOWN_370 11-16-2012 12:46 PM

I think is the 2014. but nice.

Econ 11-16-2012 01:59 PM

almost positive it's 2013.

Gay man ?? It handles fool and is a good car

b1adesofcha0s 11-16-2012 02:18 PM

Love it

NYBladeZ 11-16-2012 02:41 PM

The Cayman chassis some say is better than the 911 bc it is mid engine as opposed to rear but porsche is stubborn and will never give the cayman the powerplants they put in the 911. From what I've seen on the net, turboed Cayman's are amazing.

cossie1600 11-16-2012 03:55 PM

I will still take a 991

If you're using homosexuality as an insult, then your opinion is gay.

If I had the money I would, but I have been looking into the Caymans for some time and that will be my next car.

binary0x01 11-16-2012 04:17 PM

I like the 997 and the 911 turbo, all the others look like bugs to me...

EDIT: The Cayman's rear and sides don't look good at all, the Z has much better styling IMHO.

ImportConvert 11-16-2012 05:19 PM

It looks very 911 to me.

Z-Girl 12 11-16-2012 06:03 PM

Love it love it love it...except the wheels.

Maybe so? I saw this article a couple days ago. New cayman news is a little sketchy as far as model year.

Porsche talk…….

Every person I've talked to who has driven a Cayman loves them do to the handling characteristics/balance……that said, IMO stock just doesn't have the power of my current ride. Driving a 911TT is great fun and definitely has unique handling characteristics but it sure is amazing on the track. ……………..I just keep thinking how I can get into a GT3 RS and increase that fun meter

Is your turbo's motor stock, 420 HP ? I can imagine how great the chassis + turbocharged-power is on track. . . :driving:

In theory, a mid-engined/rwd car will offer the best balance, steering, and handling = =

Kingbaby 11-17-2012 01:58 AM

why does it look fat?

Have you ever driven one? Ppl who say the boxter and cayman (also 1 series BMW) are for rich teenage girls or 'gay' normally don't know what they're talking about. It's an absurdly amazing car.

Just recently confirmed, Porsche is going to release a '458 beater' mid engine more powerful that the 911 turbo, but under the 981 hybrid.

I agree (and ended up going to 991 route at the end!). I would chose the cayman s (new gen) over the base 911, but 911S for the added power.

I agree about the tail lights! A bit too big. Not a timeless design if you ask me.. But those side vents are superb.

I'm a long time Porsche guy. While Cayman is incredibly balanced and great handling car it's boring to me. Way overpriced for what it is as well.

My choice was 370z over old Cayman.

PCA members will get to actually see new Cayman in person week before LA autoshow.

I'm sure it's a fine automobile. Just over priced and a little boring for my tastes.

I am interested to see new 2.5 twin turbo 4 motor that they indicate will be in 2015 cayman!

Those Side scoops look cool will be a pain in arse in real life.

LMBmikeZ 11-18-2012 02:00 PM

Looks ok not feeling the rims or tail lights like OP have said.

But IMO 911>cayman any day

Zoren 370 11-19-2012 12:57 AM

I know the cayman is a very nice sport's car to drive given the mid engine configuration for better balance. Some say even better than the handling of the 911.
But something about the looks of the 911 that the cayman just doesn't seem to fit well with the word beautiful car other than its a PORSCHE. I hate the rear end maybe its the tail lights and having a flat rear end. The 997 GT3 is still the car to die for!

The Z is far more sexy and close to be looking like a 911 looking from the rear fenders only.

bigsix 11-19-2012 09:39 PM

I think the new Boxster is the more beautiful car when compared to this Cayman.
If based on exterior design/styling alone, I think the 370z is sexier than the 911 (991); However, the 911 has timeless beauty that the Z lacks.

I have a few "adjustments" which should have my car above stock power/torque. I have not put my car on a dyno so I don't know for sure where it's at.

Supposedly chipped……not sure if it is my max boost is only .9 bar
light weight flywheel
light weight pulleys
sport exhaust
K&N intake

The fun will continue……..

Think the 2013 Cayman S PDK Sport Chrono will replace my 370Z in a year or so, but wonder if the Nav won't be annoying versus the Z.

Anyone know if it has keyless door/start like the Z?

it does if you get that option. its part of a package deal called premium package plus, which means you have to get 100 other options with it. im sure you can request just that one option though if you custom order it. it works better than our system, as it detects you approaching the car and unlocks it without having you press any buttons on the door or anything.

the nav system is anything but annoying

good luck on the upgrade!

Nice Pitts! Sorry got distracted while reading this thread. Like planes as much as everything else fast.

I don't know. What I do know is that there is a turbo kit now available for the Cayman S……..all that Porsche lightweight perfect balance goodness with ~450 useable HP……..yikes! I will not sale my 911…………….:ughdance:
