2014 g sedan being track tested in camo

2014 Infiniti G37 spied on camera - YouTube

Doesn't look much like we will be seeing any radical design changes. Motor sounds like it is still a v6 N/A engine. Most likely, a revised VQ.

Meh. Just...meh.

Rui Z 11-14-2012 03:23 PM

How can you say 'meh' when it has that much camo on and there are no specs out on it yet?

SteelMoments 11-14-2012 03:26 PM

I wouldn't buy a car like this if I didn't like the exterior styling, and the last Infiniti's styling I actually liked was the 2005 G35 coupe. Wish they would have kept that as a base, updated the headlights and spoiler (and engine, of course) and been done with it. Them's was some sweet wheels.

SteelMoments 11-14-2012 03:28 PM

The current G coupe looks like a slightly modded Altima 3.5 coupe, which is prolly why they dumped that car. Not enough differentiation. And it (the Altima) costs more than a Z base... which I always thought was crazy, however you look at it.

Z-Girl 12 11-14-2012 04:57 PM

Too early to say...can't wait to see the real deal. Definitely will be in the market next summer for a small sport sedan to keep my Z company.

It did nothing for me, and I doubt any kind of spec would change that opinion unless the camouflage has added 500# and given it the body-lines of a half-dissolved cough lozenge and it's all a ruse.

Jamaica 11-14-2012 07:45 PM

looks like the new altima.

No, I love the hell out of that car. I sold it for $5K cash earlier this year. That thing above just looks...meh.

daisuke149 11-16-2012 10:06 PM

well the new g is obviously gonna be based off the new altima platform.. thus they would be similar.

bigsix 11-17-2012 02:18 AM

The body's shape looks like a toned-down Infiniti M37 (being nice). The engine/exhaust sounds pretty quiet... more-so than previous Infiniti exhausts. Possibly a smaller displacement V6 ( ? ) . .

MC 12-17-2012 08:13 PM

Infiniti is changing the name of all its cars to start with the Letter "Q" so the G37 will now be known as the "Q50" and "Q60" Coupe starting with this new 2014 model

Seriously? Well that sounds like we should expect two engine platforms. I'm guessing the Z may see the same set of options. Maybe a turbo 4 and v6 like the genesis coupe?

yeah seriously but the # after the Q has nothing to do with the engine anymore its basically how upscale or high on the potem the car is

G37 sedan = Q50
G37 coupe = Q60
M Sedan = Q70

then all the SUVs get the same change but just with a QX infront like the EX35 is gonna be the QX50 and the FX35 like what my mom has will now be a QX70

Oh ok, I don't know how to receive this news. I would have preferred it stay G or convert to the Skyline name. Kind of a tiny Nissan let down. :ugh2:

i guess they are sort of trying to align with how Audi markets their cars maybe?

there is a lot of stuff going on with infiniti lately especially with the new F1 deal they just signed and i think they are looking to do a brand makeover as they are going to be put even more so in the global spotlight rather than just being known as an alternative to lexus or something of that nature

The question is, will Nissan/Infiniti continue to stand out as an individual, innovative automobile company that goes against the grain? Or will they start building generic, feels like a Lex, bmw, genesis, benz type vehicle? Love or hate nissan/infiniti, they build cars with unique driving characteristics. I'd hate to see this change.

Here's to a questionable future in sports and luxury vehicles.:ugh2: I just hope all changes are for the better? In the vid I posted, it seems the next gen "Q" lacks dramatic design cues. (could be wrong? so i won't prejudge) Something I'm hoping for in the next gen cars.
