Police Vehicle Testing

Heres's a link to some of the latest testing for police vehicles, cars and motorcyles.

MSP - Police Vehicle Evaluation

Thier biggest weapon is still their radio and the shear number of them out there.

30 second rule still applies. If you can't ditch em, park it, and get away from the vehicle in under 30 seconds, don't even try.

BTW, evading is a felony in CA, better to just take the ticket.

No matter how fast your car, you cannot outrun Motorola.

Hate to be a joy kill but running from the cops, or felony flight is serious business in all States...do not pass go, do not collect $200 and go straight to jail. It's just not smart, it puts you, others and the pursuing cop at risk. If you play, then its just best to pay if you get caught.:shakes head:

I'll take this moment to remind everyone that forum rules do not permit bashing of law enforcement.
While people may have personal experiences, on a whole, they do a hard job for not a ton of money.

Plus, you can almost guarantee you'll be on the receiving end of a solid beating when they catch you. To quote Chris Rock, "If they have to run, they're bringing an ***-kicking with them."

How did a thread on police vehicle testing become a thread on salaries?

Anyway it at times surprises me how slow the police vehicles are. I know they used to have some nice "Interceptors" but I really don't see those as much any more. To officers out there, what kind of things do you want in a police car. I imgine top speed is not of concern, maybe handling? interior comfort? What would you like in a "dream" car for daily street use on the job?

Yes the radios will always win!!!!!!!!

Hotrodz 11-14-2012 09:14 AM

Yup, was in law enforcement for better than 20 years. Don't see that it matters when it comes to safety. We are all enthusiast and speed freaks. We like the freedom, the rush of going fast, me included. All I'm sayin is if you want to put your own self at risk by driving on the ragged edge, sweet (I wouldn't have gottin a Z if I wanted to drive Mrs. Daisy) just don't involve others needlessly.

madwi 11-14-2012 09:27 AM

Eh, it's MSP they already don't care if you drive 80-85 mph (10-15 over the limit).I dont need to go faster than that with the amount of idiots on the road. plus, when I have been pulled over by them, they have been very professional and reasonable to me. The big gumball machine (light) they put on top of the cars has to slow em down with the extra drag :)
