Wow ... Read the entire link and other stories within links.

Thanks for sharing.

Putting a small recorder in the car is genius! Especially if your going in for service.

Trips 10-08-2012 06:27 PM

Bastards!!

Cool thing they got caught!

6MT 10-08-2012 06:28 PM

Too funny!

LakeShow 10-08-2012 06:42 PM

Wow, don't let the dealer leave the lot with your car.

scionide 10-08-2012 09:31 PM

Wow now I'll be even more paranoid, time to get a camera lol

Stino 10-08-2012 11:32 PM

This is why I do not trust anyone with my car.

I would pretend to consider the offer from the sales manager to trade up for a newer Camaro SS. I would then mistakingly pop the clutch (pretend it was an accident) and drive the car through the showroom window (being sure that I strategically hit a few Corvettes and/or Camaros). Of course timing it perfectly so nobody inside the dealer/showroom gets hurt.

I would put on the biggest show with how it was a terrible accident and I was so sorry. I would them simply get inside my car and drive off.

This (so called accident) would be a huge inconvenience and loss of revenue due to the interruption of sales and construction costs. I understand that insurance would pay for most of this mess, however, the damage to the dealership and new vehicles would be enough satisfaction for me to walk away happy.

My actions described above wouldn't be very smart thing to do. But then again, that's where my mind goes when I'm really pissed.

Glad the owner caught these kind of guys !

NissanGuy23 10-08-2012 11:50 PM

Didn't feel like reading entire thread - whats the current status is anyone going to get into trouble for this? Hopefully the dealership takes action

I would chit a brick if they did this to my car. Thankfully, the only times I've gotten service done i was waiting at the dealership, meaning they couldn't of taken it on a test drive, i would have seen them because i have my eye on the entrance and exit.

FYI, some dealerships have back entrances from the pits purposely so that they don't have to drive past potential shoppers all the time. Best and only way to tell is to note the mileage before and after.

just saw this on yahoo a few min ago. what scumbags. i have a local nissan dealer here thats terrible. dunno if they would do this sorta thing but they won't ever have the chance to work on my car. i can't even get past the guy at the front desk without getting a bad taste in my mouth.
theres also another small local auto shop that has a rep for joyriding. very good mechanics but they also will not have my business.

im sure this happens everywhere... they have to take the car for a test to diagnose an issue.. i can imagine it's very tempting to be handed a set of keys to a sports car.

Best way to punish these guys is through business, post it to your facebooks and whatnot to drive service business from them.

hope your talking bout a dealership up near you and not the one in swarthmore. also.. the place i take mine to get serviced has a huge window looking out into the service bays. i always take the seat right in front, i can see everything. but even there.... i watched a young tech get into my car.. do somehting and the car lanched forward and stalled... dunno what he was doing but i coulda swore he was gonna drive it into the wall. atleast he only killed a spark :shakes head:

I go to concordville nissan, on route 202. Behind the dealer is just woods so it seems like it would be easy to spot them leaving there is only 1 way out onto 202. They got the highest ratings so i went to them. There is a sense that they value their rep at concordville so they make efforts not to spoil it. Im
Still nervous though, guy who drove my car into the service area looked pretty young.

Cmike2780 10-10-2012 08:41 AM

I watch these guys like a hawk if I ever need service done. It kind of pisses them off when they see a customer hovering while they work, but the way I see it, that's not my problem. So sad to hear such rampant dishonesty.

NissanGuy23 10-10-2012 08:41 AM

Im cant access their fb page did they take it down? Cant find it with search

looks like the dealer bought back the car for KBB + 10%,

while I am content that the guy got his money back, but it's unfortunate he had to go through all the trouble about making it viral to get anything done.

RandyD 10-10-2012 02:32 PM

video removed :( must be part of some settlement

Apoc370z 10-10-2012 02:47 PM

This is why i always drive 35 mins to a dealer to do my service, cause i know the techs there.

yea the attorney for the dealership said that the recording is misleading, but did agree to pay up. and auction the car offwith all proceeds going to charity.. saying that " that type of car needs to be driven hard in order to find the problem" or something like that.

they also said that the video recording be taken down as part of the deal.
