Should i sell my nissan GTR?

I have a 2010 super silver nissan gtr with 8763 miles on it and thinking about trading it in for a 2011 lambo garllardo lp-550 2 the lambo is 172,000 they are offering $58,987 for trade on the car, its in perfect condition i think im getting screwed on the trade in.

The only reason why I'm trading in the car is I want something a little more known .

Have you tried looking into private sales? Or the GT-R forum?

That does seem low for a good condition low mileage car...

Hey Fabio, don't know why you're asking this question here on this forum but I'm willing to give you $40K for your car plus a chick that won't screw you!!! LOL

Just kidding my friend. Yes, that sounds too low for your trade. But in the car world, the GTR is not less known than any other pricey sports car.

Man... I get frustrated most people think a gtr is some long sedan now a person who knows cars knows what it is... So you think I should do a consignment with dealer and get more money or sell it myself if i do consignment they only take 3% of the sale because I think the trade in they offered was insulting.

Can you not just do Private Party sale? I guess not since you don't have the title right?

Try other dealers... That was super low ball.

Keep the GTR .. and get the lambo :)

But yeah.. I think you should try to sell it first

Fabio88 08-12-2012 02:32 AM

Yes I have the title its paid for but I don't want to go through the hassle of having someone scam me. I sold one of my cars myself and it was not worth it so many people pulling your leg not even trying to be a buyer asking for test drive. To me ill rather have the convenience of having a dealer sell the car because if its a bad deal and dealer sells the car the dealer is held liable.

I really don't know what to do, I dont want to do the leg work to sell the car. That's why im on here you think i should try to negotiate with the dealer on trade in because they seem very firm?

If they won't budge, go for another dealer. Find out what they would give...

I wish I was in this situation. Must be nice to have a gtr much less want to upgrade to a lambo. Hope I'm successful when I get older so I can be in your situation ha! That trade in value is awful. I wouldn't take that offer.

What do you do for a living if I might ask? I'm 20 and still in college trying to figure out what I wanna do.

Thx guys for the input im going to try to negotiate with the dealer on trade and if that doesnt workout ill buy the lambo cash then have them do a consignment deal to sell the GTR if that proves not to be good then I just added another car to the collection.

do you live in a state where the sales tax is offset by your trade? Sometimes it is easier to take less on a trade and just get it done. Were that my car here in Georgia, with the sales tax offset, it would equal another 3500 on top of the 59000 in tax I wouldn't have to pay on the new car, which gets you closer to private sale price.

:iagree: that's a good point. But it would depend on your state bc they don't do that sh!t where I live now. I'm from NJ and was expecting the tax savings when I got my first car here in VA. But also sales tax on a car in VA is only 3% compared to the 7% I was paying in NJ so....

You own a hedge fund and invest in countries and you can't figure out some simple math ? You have me questioning many things with this, how can one so successful be so indecisive !
