IIRC the BRZ's 2.0 does not have unequal length headers. This design takes away from the characteristic subaru boxer sound that you hear on WRX and STI's from the past decade. It will still be a balanced, smooth powerplant but the burble (if you are used to it) will be missed :)

I really like it! I wished I could have bought a 2012 S2000 instead of a 370Z, personally, as I have become more and more about "handling" and "quality" than raw power, as time goes on. Sadly as you know they killed it instead of evolving it.
As it sits, I would not trade my 370Z for a BRZ. No way, no how. However, this platform looks like with a little time and evolution, it could pry me from my Z. (More upscale interior with more soft-touch, upgraded NAV, track-oriented tires/rims, and a turbo would do it!). I really like the lines and concept of the sub 3,000# hard-top corner carver w/upscale interior design! |

Looks great man !
I've seen about 3 or 4 Scion FR-S driving around Denver, but no Subaru BRZ yet . . . Can't wait to give a thumbs up to the first BRZ I see driving around { as a fellow Subaru driver ! ! ! } |
I finally saw the first one on the road yesterday. Where's the picture for the 370z Roadster?

Looks really nice OP! I am curious, does anyone know what the ballpark payment would be for a 2 year lease on one of these?

The FRS might be a different story -- same basic car but from Scion. They are making many more Scion versions of the car. |

Love it. The fact that I could not get a BRZ is what made me buy the Z.

The fact of the matter is that the tires Nissan puts on the car are pure crap for channeling water. My other sports cars have done better on a wet road with 2/32 tread left than my 9/32 tread tires on the 370 did. It will hydroplane as low as 50-55mph on water about 1/4" deep just trickling across the road. So far, that is the only bad habit my 370Z has. Treat it like you are on ET Streets, basically. That, I was totally not expecting and it bit me in the arse. Other than that, no problems with it being hard to control. Dry weather? It's a front-heavy (slightly) sports car. Wet weather? Treat it like a 70's Hemi 'Cuda on Mickey's. |
I knew they were crap during my test drive, I swapped them out at 800 miles and don't really have that problem. I was doing about 115 in the avatar picture
BRZ comes with 215s Michelins, probably not too bad in the rain. Regardless, the accidents will probably go something like this http://jalopnik.com/5918932/the-wait...-crash-is-over |
