New/updated 911 Turbo spy photo....

Not unusual to see camo'd development vehicles from Porsche and Mercedes among others around here in the area of Stuttgart and South Germany.

Caught this updated/test/new 911 turbo cruising next to me on the Autobahn this afternoon on the way home. Blacked out completely, new exhaust design and bodywork, no badging but the interior was not jammed up with test equipment so this must be a near production model possibly. i could see the front end barely but it had some changes as well from the current model. New design rear spoiler as well.

Sorry its not the best photo. Fun to see these being driven around!

Oh sweet. The side intakes aren't visible in the picture. They were there, yea ?

I don't know what it is but new gen Porsches just bore me. I saw 991 at an AX. It's nice car but it's just too big and stale looking to me. I don't like dynamics of newer Porsches either.

I come from owning Porsches and racing them almost my entire life as my dad had them too. For me Porsches lost most of their soul when they went to water cooled motors and made cars huge. Yes they are incredible feats of engineering and near perfection but to me that's not what makes a car fun.

Probably why I'm in a 475 hp 3000 lb 370z. Lol! While it's too big as well it at least keeps me engaged in driving process. New Porsches make me sleepy.

I like the new generation post 996. My heart still resides with the 993 :)

I want the GT3 RS 4.0 :)

HKYStormFront 07-07-2012 02:12 PM

yea that'd be at the top of my "DOOOO WANT!!!" list

cossie1600 07-07-2012 10:18 PM

I drove a GT3 on the street, way too fast for normal driving. You pretty much buy it because you want to have one.

In my village here, there is a gent who gets a new GT3 each year. Drives it every day rain, snow, shine. It gets driven. He is my absolute hero!

This year upgraded to a GT3 RS-4.0!! Black red and silver trim. Yes....that is the GT3 you want. The droids can move along :)

yea the one i drove was the owner's daily driver too. his was only a year old when i drove it and it had 24k miles. sad thing is he got rear ended mid-corner by an uninsured driver. car spun and flipped end over end down an embankment. driver was fine; he had a full roll cage since he did track days at least once a month with the PCA. he found an identical 997 GT3 in the same color with a few more options w/ 7k miles to replace it for less money than insurance gave him for his first one, came out on the good :D
