Juke-R vs GTR

Have you seen this Juke-R? Nissan will sell to select people for about close to $200,000. Jay Leno might have one! Haha

Joke-R, what a waste of Nissan's time. Should've probably done a 370z "R" version. That would actually be an insane car.

Zoren 370 06-17-2012 08:52 PM

Insane indeed! :iagree:

it wasn't really just Nissan... and it wasn't a waste of time.. anything that advanced auto engineering to the next level is AWESOME...

just sayin

Did the Juke-R really advance auto engineering, I think not.

in ways yes...
they now know they can fit a GTR motor into a smaller shell... winning!

in my opinion you are just mad you can't afford one... why else would you be so butthurt over something that has NO effect on you what so ever?

Zoren 370 06-17-2012 11:08 PM

Cool it guys this is meant for fun and informative.
Anyways yes I must agree that a lot of engineering work has been done to have this project completed, Imagine to make the car balanced, power to weight ratio, aerodynamics etc...to be able to perform at par with the 2012 GT-R
Besides the whole concept of the project is to show that with the advancement of Technology/engineering all possibilities are limitless!

Again a 370Z R concept would be a nice car to see done.

harman.khinda 06-17-2012 11:18 PM

The one car that will sell worse than the Murano Droptop, lol. Nissan's got balls. seriously how would you feel after you get smoked by a Juke at a stoplight?

BLUESLATE 06-17-2012 11:41 PM

What's the point of putting GTR drive train in a Z? That would defeat the purpose of GTR's own existence... no?

Either way, I think Juke-R is a pretty damn cool car.

On the other hand... I'd like to see it being done on a G37 sedan... 4 door GTR sedan! lol

Wouldn't it most likely be around the same weight class then as the GTR? "That would defeat the purpose of GTR's own existence... no?"

 :p

Troof. hahaha

To me, the whole awesomeness of the Juke R lies in the mating of a cheap but unique looking car to the powerful, performance drivetrain of the GT-R. Of course there are platforms that would take the transfer much better and look more natural, but they wouldn't be as unique. And I wouldn't call it a waste either, since they apparently engineered it to be pretty awesome to drive. There are even orders on it from some rich Middle Easterns.

The 370z falls out of the category since they'll have to slap AWD. Juke comes AWD factory thus making it a better candidate for the modification. ;)

Good point! In any rate this project car will not be available for mass production only for select few...$200,000 Price tag for the Juke-R. You must be a Sultan or a king in lala land to buy one.
But yes rich oil magnates are actually ordering the Juke-R

Um, I thought it was a 650,000 dollar price tag.

By this logic, a 370z-R would be just as stupid/joke/insert moronic uneducated statement here.

The point of Nissan Europe undertaking this was to prove it could be done, drum up noise about the Juke and create something that is batshit crazy. Whether or not you like the vehicle is purely your opinion and not liking it is just fine, but calling the car a joke is really dumn. There is nothing "joking" about this car at all. If you had followed its development any, you would have known there were some pretty tough technical challenges they had to overcome in order to make this vehicle work. Not only does it work, it works well.

I wouldn't think this would defeat the purpose of the GTR at all. They are built for different purposes and while the Juke-R can definitely perform, its not going to ever outperform the GTR under the same circumstances.

lol, to be honest, whether it was 1 million dollars, 650 grand, 200 grand, or 80 grand, the amount equates to "more than I'll ever pay for a car" :roflpuke2:

The juke-r is kinda cool but I still prefer the gt-r. It's still a juke so these guys will coughing up mad cash to climb into the cheap interior trim.

The interior is from a GT-R.
Basically the way the car is done is they take a Juke and rip everything out and put in all the GT-R goodies, then custom fab anything that does not fit.

:iagree:
that's why I think its so cool

and I mean, Nissan isn't just gonna make it a baby GTR and not touch the interior... lol

Elysium 06-19-2012 07:36 AM

I know they've carried the steering wheel, gauge bluster, nav screen with controls over but the door panels and dash is still from a regular juke. And from some of the pics that I've seen it looks like some of it doesn't fit all that well. I'm sure they'll improve on that for the ones that are being sold.
