How about a newer wrx? Or even the non Evo turbo lancer ^_^

I agree, get a regular WRX say 10-11, and just make it a sleeper STi. That's my plan when I can get my hands on an 03 bugeye.

This. I've been looking around and think I could get a an 04 or 05 STI for under 20k

04-05 wouldn't be bad either, I'd even stretch for an 06 if the price was right.

Yeah the new WRX was something I was considering. I even made a thread on here a few days ago asking how much power they can make with basic mods. Thanks for reminding me lol, I'm gonna go check prices for them

Edit: what the flying **** is this? Subaru : WRX Subaru : WRX | eBay

The base WRX came with 265awhp, STi's had 305awhp. An upgraded FMIC, larger downpipe and catback gave you those numbers. A moderately modded wrx could easily get 350awhp/tq. That's why they're so fun.

:rofl2: That's someone taking snow treads and putting them on. :rofl2: Awesome for a snow track haha! It's because they have so much TQ.

If its an Sti I would aim do an 06-07

New wrx are beast so that's an option for sure!

I've seen a lot of 350z in the area fairly cheap with decent mileage. N then u buy ur turbo kit

I just don't see why you'd want to downgrade from a 370 to a 350. You lose so much more than just cheaper payments...

Hence why an STi or even an Evo would be a much better choice. It's cheaper and already comes boosted. With less $$ in aftermarket parts you have a higher performing car.

I lost my first 350 in a wreck, then purchased a brand new 2011 Evo X and went stage 2 almost immediately. Look where I ended up

The performance was fun, but if OP is truly looking to "downgrade", he probably won't be happy jumping to a mid 2000's WRX from a 370. I wasn't happy with the Evo. Then again, if looks aren't high on the list... :stirthepot:

A boosted 350 would be a lateral step from a 370. Cheaper, still a Z, and fast. :happydance:

I definitely agree on the cheaper mod route. I think I only spent about $2k on stage 2 mods for my X and it was fast!

That's the evo side, not the subie side. Subies are :yum: all around.

I wouldn't consider a 350 in the same realm as a 370 on any day. Not a lateral movement for me, but that's just my :twocents: of course. Not meant to troll. :tiphat:

I must admit, I considered going to a 2011 WRX before deciding on a 370! I was sooo close to trading the Evo for one :icon17: I will probably pick one up as a DD when the Z is paid off. The wide body fenders are sexy!

Having owned both, I agree that the 370 is a step above the 350. With a turbo though, a 350 will lay down decent power. Maybe not exactly lateral, but a backward half step over there to the side kinda move :p

Well of course, with a turbo hell any car could lay down decent power. :icon17:

:inoutroflpuke: :bowrofl: Nice.

early 2000's Vett.

babbagandu 03-30-2012 08:54 AM

Every day I go back and forth between keeping and selling. Man, why is this so hard???? Today I don't feel like selling it. Tomorrow I will probably come back to this thread and look at some of the other options listed:icon14:

Pauly 03-30-2012 08:58 AM

there are used 350's around here, 2006-2008 for 16k-20k depending.

TerribleONE 03-30-2012 09:21 AM

I would stay away from used STI's EVO's especially in that price range... :twocents:

As someone who was in a similiar situation to you, I would advise against it, if you can afford the payments.

I graduated a couple years ago, landed a lucarative job on wall st., bought my Z a few months later. 7 months later, I didnt feel like continuting my ~$400/month payments, and sold it.

The next time I saw a Z on the road i immediatley regreted my decision. I traded it for a freakin jeep liberty, and couldnt stand not having the Z. Ended up selling the Jeep after 3 months, and bought a 3 series coupe, costing me $600 a month.

Still not satisifed, and I am now looking for a cayman, which will likely run me another $900 a month.

I wish I could go back and keep my Z. Had i not had such favorable mods on my old Z, i'd have bought another one, however I did not want to go through the hassle of making a new one look like my old.

Th3 On3 03-30-2012 10:03 AM

Y dont u just stay with it for a bit more n once u have a year go refinance it
