I think Im gonna be getting a used M3 within the next year or so too. They are good deals now around 45k in my area. Its hard to find the one I want though. Looking for one without nav and in manual.

Thanks man! I am thinking about a few things. I would love to go with a SC but will probably just start out with some bolt on stuff. I did the front grills myself.

Why no nav? If you are looking for an E90 (4 door like mine) then the 6MT is a bit more rare. I was fortunate to find one with silly low mileage! I love the premium package with nav though.

Yeah E90 since I'll be getting hitched soon and this is my excuse for a family car lol. I dont like that extra hump on the dash where the nav is, lol. Plus my navigational skills are impeccable haha. Having a manual is more important than not having nav though and I dont like the idrive in the older M3s.

Very nice photos. I just took some pictures of my Z and a friends M3 this weekend, nowhere near your level of quality but I still enjoyed them.

Edit: I see what those are. They are clean but I think if I was going to go with something it would probably be the blacklines over those.

hows the power compared to the z?

400 vs 332... ;)

I was going to post up a thread on the car and how it feels overall but I will just say that power wise it is definitely more powerful. How that power comes on though is very deceptive however as it's extremely linear! The V8 is very noticable when you hit the gas but it's so smooth that a couple things happen...

1. I had a tune on the Z along with all sorts of airflow mods and suspension so when I hit the gas pedal on the Z, I got a very snappy throttle response along with that "oh-so-wonderful" noise! That made it feel fast. Was it faster than the M3 though? Nope.

2. Deception comes by way of (gas on floor in "M" mode)... "Hmmm... I can hear and feel the V8 but... HOLY DAMN! IS THAT HOW FAST I'M GOING?!". Understated but damn fast. I don't know if that's getting the point across but it kinda sums it up.

Is it the fastest car I've ridden in? No but it is a definite powerhouse and it's a blast to drive. It really is. I am excited about driving again and that's always good. By comparison, my Z was a blast to drive too though with the mods and tune.

Technically 414 vs. about 382 (flywheel to flywheel) as my Z sat.

But still... 414 stock :rolleyes: Mmmmm ;)

Agreed. I threw the M into 3rd from 4th while moving at a pretty good clip and floored it and I damn near thought the transmission was going to jetison out the back of the car LOL
