"Yeah I'm A Lady, I'm a Lady! Not Really... Its me, KingJulian! Now, which of you is attracted to me KingBaby?"" - Seriously man...your Z fanatic? The Genesis Coupe :roflpuke2: http://www.thetorquereport.com/asset...x352-17367.jpg All Z owners want more power...None of us needs power. The ones that do trade the Z in for a mustang/camaro/evo/subaru...go figure looks isn't a factor to some... http://zovuze.com/wp-content/uploads...e-2013-ko1.jpg  Even this version of the 370Z looks worlds better than the gen coupe. Some of your points are mute, and cynical. So crazy to even take serious. Quote:
If they was any car to compare to the current Z to me. It would be the BRZ/FRS the idea behind those cars is what the Z was. Now Nissan has stretched the Z to fit the American market (larger). Yet the Z car is true to the first Z car as any of them. I sorry if my first post was blunt to this conversation, but C'mon son. Sh!t so ugly reminds me of \/\/\/\/\/ http://jedijenn0.tripod.com/MortalKombat/reptile.gif The 370Z however much I hate it, still looks like this \/\/\/ http://style.mtv.com/wp-content/uplo...ht-night-2.jpg I did the Katie Perry 370Z please...also let's not pay too much to numbers that mags are posting! Remember this Drag Race - Genesis Coupe, 370Z, Mustang GT - YouTube All subjective until it's on the street/strip. I think Nissan does need a little bump 20-30hp out of the engine. Therefore leading to more bolt-on hp. I've looked over many of the journals and it's insane the numbers some of these guys are putting down. Not everyone wants a car already done, with nothing to mod. The ones that do go get a GT-R Shoots I don't know what I'm talking about... sleepy and just got off a 12hr watch so hopefully you can follow my rant! |
I just traded in my 2011 Genesis Coupe Track Edition for the 370z. The Genesis is a great car for the price but not in the same category as the 370z.
I did love all the features, power and warranty for the 29k I paid for it. The genesis doesn't handle or perform like the Z and feels alittle bloated. |
It seems like Hyundai is challenging itself with this 2013 coupe: increasing power and performance while making a higher quality product.
Considering where the brand was 10 years ago, it's quite an achievement to have a car like this on the market. I think car guys can respect the Genesis coupe for what it is. Koreans have an odd sense of styling, though. |

:iagree: They pop up from nowhere to highest sales volume. They are on the right direction in every category Except Styling. |
I'm glad Hyundai is stepping up their game. Maybe it will motivate Nissan to do the same.
And since I'm a track junkie I have to say for the record the only Genesis coupe V6 I've seen at my local track could only muster 14.0 @ 102 mph (with a 2.2 60ft launch for those who care). And that's faster than any modified 2.0T I've seen at the track too. |
Genesis 3.8 vs 370
Alive from the dead. If it's relevant, I traded in a '13 z sport for a '14 GC 3.8 Grand Touring. I have all tbe bells and whistles tech wish from nav to iPhone nav and remote start, leather everywhere, etc. hard pressed but for the $, for what you get 1 month later I LOVE the GC. Yes, the z faster. Handles better, turn in, feed back, all that. I ran the z at Sebring race away. No way this car will match my laps. However, for the price, I have all the bells and whistlers I could want, 8 speed auto, leather everywhere, I traded my '13 for a '14 GC coupe 3.8. Yes it's a Grand Tourer, not gonna win with a 370, I had one, but it'll be close and tbe comfort plus tech, great bang for the buck.
Forgive me, typing from phone |
Keep in mind I wanted a a COMFIER ride to my 35 min commute to work at 530am and keeping it under 25k with performance. I STILL can get in front of traffic plus I have all the sudo luxury with tech at at 35k or less price. But I do miss my z six speed manual. Got so used to it, power everywhere if you knew how to drive.

Nothing beats a Z in feeling one with the car and having ample power for the price. But my rants were justified. The current MSRP instantaneously proved my point. The Z was NOT a value @ $33k. And many old skool purchasers took the hit. Thank god I negotiated mine properly.:ughdance:

Why do you think so? Is it because both come with two doors and four wheels? Please enlighten us:rolleyes:

I don't have anything to back up my theory at this moment. However I noticed over the years of living in the USA ( lots of Hyundai's here ) that their shapes resemble other Japanese makers. An example. Their latest Santa fe looks a little like the CX 5 they also got a station wagon out that looks like a Volvo. Also the KIA forte looks like a civic. Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk |

Nah, I wasn't taking anything personally. I agree with Firebase. I also owned both, and have driven a few 3.8 GC during my time. There is absolutely zero resemblance between the Z and GC, none, nada. Performance and quality, the Z is on another level.
