But the new Genesis is so damn ugly....I mean, really, really ugly. For that sort of ugly to be relevant, it better have numbers closer to the 'stang. It just doesn't... and the fit and finish, while improved, still feels cheap. It's still the same car its always been its going to be the next generation the sees a big jump in quality. It doesn't sound like its selling all that well anyways, so who knows if we'll ever see a second gen.

i don't see anymore gen coupes than i do 370z...which is not a lot. G37 coupes are all over though.

I've read that the 13 genesis does 13.6 in the 1/4 mile. Supposedly the software cuts power between shifts. If I was going to spend $30k + I would get a z.

Yes it does.

Who are you again????

Anyway. I'm a Z fanatic and only want the Z to succeed and keep succeding at being the best without there being a comparison to a hyundai... I already own my Z and on my second Z and owned 2 G's 3 altima's. A 240sx fastack and will probably own a few more nissans. I'm just saying I want to the Z to be more competitive... they can always make an NA 3.4/tr engine with 300hp on the same chassis for the ones that want it more pure...

As far as cost or competing with the GT-R. The Z is RWD 2 seat sports car. The GTR is 4 seat, AWD supercar. They are built for different reasons and don't cross all that much. The price hike and refinement of the GT-R also don't make them close competitors.

As far as cost. BMW, Subaru and Mitsubishi seem to be working out pretty ok having turbo and non turbo versions of there sports cars and keeping them warranty.

As far as quality. I don't see how quality would go backwards. If anything my ideas would move it forward. Why do you really need power seats in a non-reclining sports car with no back seats??? You can have rich supple leather on a manual seat. ferrari does it all day long. Nissan won't go backward on plastics and what we have now is pretty top notch.

But Red is right about one thing. I don't think the gen is comparable to the Z. The can't hang on the track part? I heard that before about the camaro SS. Anyone remember the deficit between the Z and camaro SS??? I believe the camaro beat our cars well over a second. And their suspension sucks. The track is something that the two cars just have to be on the track to see...

the refresh genesis is ugly. why they changed the facia beats the hell out of me. seems like these korean folks can't put the damn clay tool down at the end of the day. they need to make silly scoupes in windows or werd wavy lines along the side of the car, etc.

Power seats are a selling point. Keep in mind the car is not necessarily marketed to enthusiasts alone. There are people that want the "luxury" of seat heaters, automatic seats, brand name sound, etc.

I'm with you though, I don't see any need for power seats. But I know others do so I guess Nissan has to try and balance. They assume the purist type will just opt for the base interior.

I don't like power seats because of 1) weight, 2) speed (they are slow!) and 3) they are expensive when they break... and they do break!!!

It's funny, come to think about it, I have heated seats in a car that is stored in winter and
power seats in a car where I'm the only driver and never adjust them. ;)

But I do like leather seats and the red seats in my 40th are :yum:

Nobody drives my Z so I don't fuss with the seats. Maybe what's wrong with the Z is that its not sold in low numbers to enthusiasts ONLY like the S2k was, miata, EVO and WRX STi. I guess that's what makes those cars special.

That's why I say keep the leather. 86 the power... it reduces weight which helps performance anyway.

18000 enthusiasts annually :)

3.8L DI V6 that makes only 16hp more then a base Z and 2hp less then the Nismo which both use a 3.7L V6 no DI. Not very impressed.
