Here it is.

GMaxAlt70Z.

No , I have no idea... Altima??

edit: This very well could be a Photoshopped concept by the magazine. I got the image online from Reddit.

Looks like a Maxima type shell. Just look at the curvature of the belt line and the front and rear lights.

The other cars are the Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon, which are approximately the same size as the Max. I wonder what they will call it.

:iagree: That's immediately the model that came to my mind as well.

And it makes sense. Nissan markets the Max as a sports sedan.

Now, will the :usa: Maxima get a v8 and/or RWD? prolly not :(

thetaste 02-22-2012 08:23 AM

If that is a V8 and RWD I am in.

m4a1mustang 02-22-2012 08:24 AM

The V8 supercars use V8s (doh :p) and RWD. A solid rear axle with watts link, no less. :stirthepot:

EazyD 02-22-2012 08:39 AM

Some background: this all started when the race they take part in required all cars to be V8s and Nissan couldn't compete with a GT-R anymore -- The Nissan GT-R creamed everyone on the track even after adding additional weight.

Nissan entering V8 Supercar series in Australia

I'm curious what engine they wind up running

m4a1mustang 02-22-2012 08:42 AM

V8 Supercar is very much like NASCAR. Whenever one manufacturer starts to show a clear advantage over the others, they get reigned back in. It's a super competitive series where the emphasis is more on driver skill and team work instead of just the design of the car (ala F1).

True. I enjoy both forms of motorsport, though. When the cars are equal, you get a display of driver skill. When they are not, you get to see which technological innovations break the sport. Both are fun imo.

Definitely. I love watching all types of racing.

And even when the rules make everything "equal" someone always finds a way to gain a mechanical advantage. :icon17:
