Nice job. I've not seen those head lights before. Boomerang head lights with an Eskimo flair.

I like the snow boots. They'd be sexier if they were white fur.

nice max

I have been in advertising for many years so let me give you a suggestion..the model is too self conscious and the poses too contrived...Loosen up and be more natural!!
..boots dont go with outfit..too big... but lighting was good...

My thoughts were similar. I personally hate shooting a car w/ models, but that's just me.

The photos looked good from the technical aspect, but the whole snowboard attire/bikini/amateur model really detract from the car.

LakeShow 02-17-2012 06:14 PM

Umm, why wasn't she naked?

rli2bcz 02-17-2012 11:18 PM

no close ups?

shadoquad 02-17-2012 11:24 PM

I liked it.

I understand he may have to work with amateurs or those that are "bush" league. :) models and it might work with a bikini...but the contorted poses were just over the top and really old school

...Try getting your model to relax and smile a bit and not try so hard.. getting in a bit closer wouldn't hurt either..in spite of all that people think, a womans face yes FACE is the most important part of of any picture no matter how sexy you want it.. and we saw very little of hers because the camera was too far away..

Again those big boots were a big distraction..

I think the photographer is unclear as to whether the main focus is the car or the woman..

Hey guys thx for the comments! and the boots well they are actual snowboard boots lol And for the model she's just a friend she's not a model so yeah the poses are a lil sketchy but i got some nice shots that day. :)

If your not doing that for a living... Its all about having fun..:) which i see you have....as for the boots yes they are real but sometimes you gotta cheat..;. i mean how many women go snowboarding in bikinis in the first place? and big feet are not attractive on women...and decide which is most important,,,the car or the woman and make that clear to the viewer...

oh and stop blaming the model...you are the photographer/director..give her something that is natural for her...:) good luck and be sure to post more of your work..

Are you familiar with the concept of "fill light" its widely used in outdoor model photography in bright light situations..You should learn that as one of the basic tools.,l used it in shooting my car which I use as an avatar..Notice how the shadows have been lightened, in this case just a bit .,it works great with women because the sun is not in their faces and so the skin is soft and the eyes are not squinting...You should also learn that and techniques of skin softening, ,.,Do you use a photo program? I use abobe photoshop elements,,,its a lot cheaper than the full version and can do most of the same things.,absolute necessity to have such a program and Adobe is the best known and widest used so you will find lots of others you can share info and techniques with!
Have fun!

Yes i usually do flash photography but the sun is soft in this time of the year in Canada specially around 3-5pm. If i cant use reflectors (cuz im working by myself) ill go with my Gary Fong lightsphere if im shooting outside. And i can always add a lil bit of fill light in Photoshop if the shadows are too harsh. but im very happy with the results i got from that shoot and it was the 2nd time for her doing an actual photoshoot so it was great. I gave her a few model magazines so she can catch up with the new poses and stuff.
