Whatttttttttt?!
I thought they were stopping production of the S2000?! |
saw that this morning on autoblog, and loved one guy's comments about the "new" s2000 looking like the product of a GT-R, SLR, and EVO IX all mating. That front is hideous...
and does it look like it's sagging to anybody else?? |
Way too much going on in the front. Miss my S2K, was like driving an oversized go kart.
|
It does look like the front end is drooping. It's all a bit over the top, but last I heard Honda is scapping the s2000. They want to model themselves after Toyota with a bunch of fuel efficient, unsafe, and over priced hybrids, that nobody wants to drive, but the government may make us drive.
|
I think front looks Lancer and headlights are carbon copy of GTR. Although, I love S2000s. 2009 is the last year for S2000.
|
Why would they stray away from the traditional roadster even with it being a concept?
|
Looks like it would slot in better with the new Acura lineup. And by slot in I mean this thing's nearly as ugly as the TL.
|
Looks pretty nice! I hope people around here get it!
[: |
side view looks like a lancer coupe. but overall, not really feeling the design of car.
|
Simply that design sux..
|
It's like the Lancer and RX8 had a bastard child and spliced in some DNA from the Soltice. Someone should tell the designer that the very IDEA of "shark" become uncool in every way the SECOND Fonz jumped the shark.
|
too bad it will most likely stay as a concept
|
I will choose this S2000 over the new concept any day.

^^ I wouldn't want either, but if i had to choose..it would be the concept over that one
|
From the side:
http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q...71928517AC.jpg It looks 'pigeon-toed' to me, if that makes any sense. |
I take it back.....i don't like the concept anymore...lol
it looks very thin, wonder how small is the engine |
It looks thin because of that line on the side. Its also the reason the front looks like its drooping down. Seriously, I love the S2000, but that, if it became a reality, would kill my love for the car.
|
^ I think your in luck. Sounds like 4-5 years before they put any money to the S project. But who knows they may surprise us all.
I agree though I'm not really a fan of this puppy. |
don't expect it to look anything like this. Concepts and clay models are generally used as base inspirations to build upon other more practical concepts.
I'm going into trans design at art center of pasadena and all my professors say this has 100% no chance of looking anything close to that |
It appears as if the Z will be the last man standing as far as Japaneese sports cars that are somewhat reasonably priced.
It's sad when you think of all the great cars that used to be out there. The Supra, MR2, even the Celica. Then you had the Prelude and the S2000. I think within the next 2 years the only American sports car left might be the Mustang. It really is sad. |
Yeah especially if the corvette goes to pot...it is a sad day..but at least the Z is alive and well.
|
i really hope that is not the direction honda is taking the s2000.
this is more like it. http://cache.jalopnik.com/assets/res..._concept_1.jpg or this http://www.roadandtrack.com/assets/i...2056482934.jpg |
^ the s3k is the more proper concept. expect the next model to share characteristics from that concept sketch
