Honestly I don't think the Vette looks similar to the GTR that much at all. Yes it's kinda angular but so is a lambo. Yes the A pillar is black, but that's not a huge design cue. Every shape is different, the roof line, the fenders, the hood...

but it uses the accenting and sculpture philosophies. especially side and rear. It's definately there. And its clear.

I had an old college prof who said that if you dropped aliens on our planet and had them compare ferrari and corvette they wouldn't see a difference... half the room gasped in horror, the rest were dumb-struck lol... this helps his point

That actual quote about aliens was from a Top Gear episode comparing the two (with a C6). This is a much closer comparison than any other car, but I think the C7 deviates from that path further than the C6 did.

Why would they do that? They already have one with a de-tuned LS9. I could see them starting to use the new LT1, but the LS7 wouldn't really make sense. That motor is going away since the Z06 will be and thats the only car that makes use of their 7.0L

I think because they have the LS7 available now. Probably have more castings than they needed, but there is a new LS7 Camaro.

While I'm sure all angles on the car will look much better in person (not that they're bad in pictures) this one is by far my favorite:

This car in white stirs things in my loins...

The other reason why I'll love the C7... it will have a targa top!!! The best roof option of all

I love it. Seeing the C6 photo next to the C7 makes the C6 look so dated. The C7 looks like a race car.

Can't afford to jump ship now, but I'll snag a used one in four or five years!

Seriously hoping my dad trades in his C6 -- this thing is just mean.

Been looking at it more. Digesting the dimensions and specs. The car is just too big still. No reduction in length and the weight is above 3000lbs. Nice from the side not so much from the back.

I like smaller powerful shapes. The car is going to be great but too big for me. Price wise I can get a 2009 or 2010 911.

One thing I didnt like about either Vette I had mid and late 90's was the size after sometime of owning. Either way they did make a newer Vette. Im sure it will sell well.
