Family Sport Sedan Car Suggestions?

Thought I'd ask for some opinions from members on here. My fiancée is looking to buy a USED luxury sport sedan for under $28k. What do you guys recommend and why?

The car has to have four doors, automatic transmission, and gets good gas mileage. I'm leaning toward the 07-08 Acura TL-S even though it comes with less HP than the 335i and the G37S, but it gets better mpg and is cheaper and it's also rarer than the BMW and G37S. Thoughts?

We are also considering the last gen Nissan Maxima, Toyota Camry V6, Honda Accord V6, Honda CRV, and Toyota Rav4. Most likely not the Camry and Accord cuz they are too common.

I had an '08 Acura TL before the Z, I totaled it because I hydroplaned on the freeway but I LOVED that car. It's roomy, comes with only two options, with navy or no navy, things like seat heaters and little things here and there are standard with all models. The leather is high quality and the engine lasts an easy 200k miles with little maintenance. It also had lots of power and was fun to drive (and it wasn't even the "S") Just great car all around, after I totaled it I tried really hard to purchase another one, the resale value is so great on those cars that I just couldn't justify paying the same price I paid for mine new for a used one. The new bodies were out at that time and they had a price hike and a body style I don't care much for. But yeah...my vote goes to the Acura. The ONLY "downfall" is that it's front wheel drive, but if it's for your fiancee it should be a perfect fit. Drive one if you haven't yet

That's good to hear. I love the 07-08 TL-S. I found some near me with ~30k miles selling for $26k. I'm sure with some negotiating I could get it for $26k OTD.

I used to have an '01 Lexus IS300. I loved that car. My Mother-in-Law has a newer IS250. It's very nice too. Might want to take a look at them.

The TL-S is a great car, but I'd personally go with the G37. The BMW will give you nothing but problems in the long-run and the newer ISs are kind of duds (not bad, just boring). The G37 has a nice ride and interior and has sporty cred (the closest you can get to a 370Z with 4 doors).

Yeah I agree the G37 sedan would be the pick in my opinion, they are luxurious and don't compromise too much on performance for being a 4 door. And they aren't that terrible in mpg.

One of my buddys owns a last gen maxima as well, and he loves it, Ive bin it a couple times, defineltey not a 4 door sports car, but it gets the job done. (family sedan)

My pick would be between those two, but then again I am bias toward Nissan/Infiniti. :tiphat:

If she didn't want a lot of options, she could probably get a new 2012 Maxima under $28k.
