Stock, I think the juke is hideous.
This? well....this will be epic.

I wonder how unstable this car is going to be at speed. I'd love to have an hour behind the wheel on a road course!

I would hope the tech's fiddled with the electronics to accomodate the shorter wheelbase (250mm difference I think). I would bet it will be hard at work keeping this thing on the track. I think even the GT-R would be pretty "unstable" on the track without the GT-R electronic's. Then again, the Juke-R does have to manage the roughly 800 lbs difference in weight.

Rooster89 11-02-2011 01:41 PM

But really brings an interesting point up, were it detuned to 350 hp, for a production model, what would that mean for the Z? I have always liked the way the juke looks. but its a suv crossover with jack for space, might as well be a taller hot hatch. Still those looks are good. ATOMIC BULLFROG AWAY!

yea, and it's a different market now then back then... The Zx didn't sell nearly as well as it should, or I think it would have, if it was released today

I'm sure they've addressed it, but I still think this car is going to be interesting to drive. The GTR is huge, which helps it stay planted. This car is tiny. I'm not saying it's going to be undrivable or anything... Just that it's going to take some skill and/or restraint to keep it in a straight line ;)

I'm surprised how well it all came together. The interior looks really good.

I'm not.. tbh, they put a lot of money in this...

Cmike2780 11-23-2011 01:56 PM

I honestly though they were going to leave it a gutted, racer type cockpit, kind of like the Nismo RC. It looks like they went all out and made it a plausible interation.

Someone wrote a poem about this vehicle:

Some people call me a CUV
Some call me the prankster do Ghosn
Some people call me Maury (wooooo, wooooo)
Cause I'm part illegitimate son

People talk about me, baby
Say I'm designed all wrong, designed all wrong
But don't you worry, baby, don't worry
Cause I'm at Silverstone

Cause I'm a ripper
Rubber gripper
Hit the puddles
And I'm a skipper
Save my bragging for my run

I'm a Juke-R
Tire smoker
I'm a midday stoker
I wax your Porsches just for fun.

And a video of it at Silverstone:

Nismo89 12-10-2011 03:13 PM

this build perked my interest as i love the GTR, loved the idea and all, and kept up with the news and videos so far, from beginning to now. just wish they'd do it with the Z.

GT-Z. lol.

And now you can get one, for the next few weeks.
Nissan Juke-R: now available to order - BBC Top Gear

Quote:

Nissan has received three firm orders for brand-new Juke-Rs, two of them coming from a "high-profile and well-respected member of Dubai society". And while the original concept was based on the 2010 model GT-R running gear (478bhp), the production cars will pack the engine and drivetrain from the 2012 GT-R.

Isamu 05-03-2012 09:12 AM

I wonder how well it will sell

Well they have 3 confirmed orders. :ugh2:
I would say maybe 15 total, they are only taking orders for a few weeks, I bet the price of this will be above a GT-R, and besides the Top Gear UK website it has not hit the major networks yet.
